I have talked to 3 different women from Africa and seems they all 3 loved me and after 1 day they wanted to marry me and wanted to come meet me, but seems they were just a little shy of USD to make it and wanted to know if I could help them out. I of coarse quickly denied them saying I was sure sorry to hear of their mother with the "cancer" and uncle also of the "cancer", one just sold some antiques and ask if I could front her the money till her client pays her. WHAT GIVES I guess there is a new thing going on... "New African Scammers"

I don't know if they are new or not. The ones I really dislike claim to be from different cities in the US but could not write a grammatically correct sentence to save their lives. Just that sentence structure shows they are not native English speakers. So why lie about where you are?

If anyone tell you they love you in the first e-mail then you should know they are scammers... Smile.. If anyone asks you for money or your credit card they are scammers.. and ppl they come in the US form also.. My mother is still recovering from a scammer who was born and bred here in the US..
I have met many men who also have lost their shirt from women who do this and it makes it impossible for other women to be trusted when this happens.. I have met some really nice guys but they cannot get past this trust issue and I cannot blame them.. Smile.. So yeah scammers suck pond scum and may the creator give them their just rewards for what they do..
Smile as for me you want money.... Go get a JOB...... This goes for the beggers on the street to any one else..

Ok.. so lets keep some things in perspective and what you don’t know… can actually hurt you! We are all here for the same reason to meet someone and have a relationship but what happens when the person on the other side isn’t who they say they are? They have now preyed on your emotions and desire to be in a relationship to commit INTERNATIONAL BANKING FRAUD.
Wait that doesn’t sound right? Or does it? So lets look at the facts first:
As of 2004, there were 8.4 Million fully paid subscribers to over 1,000 internet dating sites. In fact, 1% of all internet activity is dating and romance related. The market was worth $516 million in 2005. On many dating sites, up to one third of all profiles are fake, virtually ensuring that any user who communicates with more than two other members will have an approach made by a scammer. Assuming just a 1% response rate, there are going to be at least 84,000 people who each stand to loose a relatively modest $1,000 each. The total losses in this scenario will work out to be more than $84 million, and that is in just one year.
Still don’t see the connection…
You know those letters you get, my dead uncle has all this money but I need perfect stranger to get it out of West Africa? Those are what are called Advanced Fee Fraud or 419 letters, (419 is the Penal code for the crime in Nigeria). Due to the bad press the government developed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and instilled the Commission Act of 2002. (Now ironically, the Clinton Administration was responsible for providing the technology initially to Nigeria and Ghana – nice thank you huh?) After the enforcement of the laws and the raids on numerous cafes, the criminals needed a new method of income because the average monthly income for a family in Nigeria is less than $50USD and with the exchange rate $100 USD is equal to $12K Naira which can pay for housing and food for 3 months or a full year of educational fees.
Patience Im getting there…
With the influx of the online dating sites they found their victims, lonely, romantic, recently single and ripe for the picking. Using techniques of social profiling, hours are spent scouring the sites targeting singles or unhappily married men and women between the ages of 35 and 65.
They provide an ear to listen to all the woes of the victim’s life details, children’s names, life stories and deep dark secrets. They use stolen photographs from various modeling websites and make-up sad stories of lost loves and family members. Days pass with love letters and e-cards, sometimes even flowers, chocolates and teddy-bears. Using a deliberate psychological breakdown of their victim’s physical state through sleep deprivation (intentional phone calls in the middle of the night), guilt, harassment, and most importantly create an emotional bond. This bond has the victims left feeling completely at ease with their new companion. The promises of love and a future together have blinded the victim and most sense of reasoning has been eliminated.
The “Perfect Mate” has to suddenly travel for business to West Africa, or is already on assignment. He will take ill or have an accident and be placed in the hospital without a means to pay for his hospital bill. It has been documented that robbery, loss of all monies and identification or most recently the mate is being held hostage by kidnappers or the police. Preying on the undying love they share with their prey, they zoom in for the kill begging for money to be sent via Western Union.
In some cases the scammer has United States Postal Money Orders that they cannot cash in their country and will send them to the victim in exchange for wiring the money back for plane fare, and incidentals as well as promising to be on the next flight home. When the Money Orders are returned counterfeit; the victim is left accountable; scammer disappears or seems to not know anything about the origin. Money Orders are not the only type of financial instruments; stolen bank checks have also been used.
In many cases, there is an additional reshipping scam. Criminals use stolen credit cards to purchase items online, have them sent to their “loved one”, and they in turn will forward them onto the criminal. For merchants, the order is placed and shipped, the cardholder requests a credit from the issuing bank of the credit card and chargebacks are created. The authorities are notified and the victim is held accountable.
Mortified yet? We aren’t even CLOSE to the end:
The Internet Crime Complaint Center (a US government funded research organization) reported 207,449 fraud complaints resulting in losses of $68 Million in 2004 alone. Bearing in mind that many victims never report these types of crimes to the authorities (because of embarrassment, associated bureaucracy and because the FBI etc can really do nothing to apprehend the Nigerian-based scammers), then the $3,000,000 (yes $3 M) loss that 250 members of an internet support group have reported (an average of $12,000 per victim as of May 2006).
When you call your local law enforcement they will laugh, tell you to call the Secret Service, FBI, State Police anyone but them and there is nothing they can do. You are out money, suffering with heartbreak and every other emotion you can imagine Currently, there is little assistance from the Nigerian and Ghanian governments, in the past the police and local officials were b

Thanks, dvalkerie, for that information. The more we know about these criminals, the better prepared we will be when we receive these innocent-sounding e-mails from Nigerians (or Chinese looking for a love connection). In the meantime, here is a site where someone has some fun with these scammers. With tongue planted firmly in cheek, Brad Christiansen gets to scam the scammers. I just about fell out of my chair laughing so hard at these. Enjoy! http://www.quatloos.com/brad-c/directory02.htm

I think that they are finally getting it through their thick heads that it's time to change their scam routine! I also met a gal that initially was in DC...but ended up in Ghana. We talked for a few days, she send some photos (some very seductive!), and then, I guess because I hadn't made the first move, suggested that she come here to be with me. I've been that route before, and know most of the games. So, I simply told her that I would talk to my lawyer about getting her K-1 expedited. Generally, this will scare them away, when you mention the "A" or "L" word! But she came back and wanted to know how long that would take. I let a couple of days pass, then told her my attorney said he needed a recent photo of her, holding a cardboard sign with my name on it, and a scanned copy of her identification. That one seemed to do the trick! No word from her since then! Just a word to the wise to you guys out there...many women in distant lands have no problem with a relationship and marriage with someone that is 10 to 15 years older than they are, and they are quite comfortable with that. But more than a 15 year age difference and all you are doing is handing over your wallet and losing another peice of your heart. I keep hoping that some gal in this country will be interested in something more than physical attraction, is looking for someone that will love and cherish them, and don't care what he looks like. But more and more I am finding that women in this country just aren't interested in guys that are big, dog ugly and not well off...regardless how good his heart is. Such a shame that American men have to find real love for another country

I wont look in another country because that isnt realistic. So I just lump along and wait .. the right one will come.

If they ask for my home address I tell them I work for the US goverment and can not give it out to any one.. they usually leave me alone. but have been scammed a few times.. learn my lesson though.. had a friend in Ohio who was takin in my the scammers and had the FBI show up at her house because of the things these men sent her were used buy stolen credit cards.. and she had to do some really fast talking.. and they belived her after awhile..

wow dvalkrie, you could have been talking about men that have contacted me over the years. It isn't just this site, there are other dating sites where these illiterate individuals lay in wait. I have gotten so many I love you's on the second email and countless love poems of their undying love....I just have to laugh at them, they have to have a website they must pull these off of.
I know you shouldn't mess with them too much but I couldn't help myself. I took one gentleman's instant message name (i use that term loosely) and sent it to another scammer who "love me long time" and 'hey I am sick can you send me some money for medicine' and told each of them that they could email each other and find out the best way to get into a womans heart and trade some secrets of how to find the gullible women. Needless to say, I never did hear back from either man.....can't understand why they don't write me any more

I am faithful, caring, loving and a passionate man.
