I'm a native Houstonian here, moved to east Texas area in 89 & love the woods!
I enjoy the leisure lifestyle of lake living, fishing...it's almost like camping year round! I'm looking for companionsip w/ in 50-100 miles that enjoys this also.

I didn't think this was off-topic...this is a dating site...this is the Texas Forum...this was a post about being in ETex... LOL
It is amazingly beautiful here. I moved to the Tyler area fist in 97, from Vermont. I'd thought I might miss the New England beauty, but I have not had time since there is so much here to admire! And there is a LOT less snow and cold here! hehe
Some of us who post on the TX forums are talking about a camping get-together at some point. Have you seen those posts? We have no definite plans yet but you are more than welcome to join the discussion and offer suggestions.

I hear you with the Lake living in East Texas LOVE IT , been here 14 years from Dallas Wouldnt have it any other way.Something about the water and freedom just gets in your blood. Its a year round adventure in these woods. The smell of fire burning is just home to me.When you drive home from Dallas and come over the bridges of water and smell that fire, you know you are home. No way that is The party is on when the Summer is here, Lots of fire works Then get up and deal with another day

Funny, but on the map, it certainly looks like I am in the eastern 1/4 of the map. Why does that make me not East Texas just because I am north of Houston? Houston looks to be East Texas as well. I looked it up in Wikipedia and yes, I know they are not always right but here is the link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_East_Texas It really depends on the person, I suppose on whether or not we are East Texas. According to this link, Houston and Galveston were always considered East Tx up until recently by some people...not all. So, Hi, Y'all! Lake Conroe is close to me.

Sorry...JMO
I'm a native Houstonian & have always heard it referred to as south east Texas.
Deep east Texas is even further up, Nacogdoches-etc, I guess the closer ya get to LA the more deeper? LOL
