There appears to be a trend of older women dating younger men?
Surveys revealed a high percentage of women dated men who are 10 or more years younger than themselves.
Age difference is an adolescent worry. As you get older, life experience and emotional growth help to equalize your relationship skills and resources. Success in these relationships depends on what the motivations of both people are. Some older people feel younger at heart than their contemporaries and like to date people who are as active as they are.
Can these older woman/younger man relationships last?
There are healthy and unhealthy reasons to date someone of a different generation. One inappropriate motivation for dating a younger person is fear of aging on the older person's part. A younger partner isn't going to reverse the aging process or protect you from old age. The differences that can cause the biggest problems within the couple's relationship are differing maturity levels.
Many relationships succeed with this kind of older woman/younger man scenario. It seems everyone focuses on the age difference but what really makes or breaks the relationship is how well the couple can form a partnership that works.
If you're going to have a partner who is much older or younger, you'll do better off if you forget about your ages and concentrate on whether the relationship works for both of you, or not. What really makes a romantic relationship succeed is the emotional connection.
Whether or not a relationship is healthy is not determined by age difference but by the interaction between the partners. A 10-year difference is not too difficult to bridge, but a 20-year differences or more in age can lead to some difficulties as the partners get older.
A 10-year or more difference in your ages makes little difference in how well you can conduct your relationship. Don't focus on an arbitrary numbers difference in your ages. If you are getting along, you have good communication and problem solving, and you love each other, that's a precious thing, and far more important than any age difference could be.
If other people have a problem with it, let it be their problem.

Depends on the man entirely. I have friends my age that are totally irresponsible and friends 10 years younger that act more my age. Really all depends on the persons involved. Some people never grow up, men and women.

The man I am dating right now is younger by a few months! Before him, yea I was dating younger men--10 years my junior but 15 is my cut off age. Guys younger than that are too fussy, and are not serious. I think I do it that way because my ex is 12 years older than I am, and ready to retire. I'm not ready to slow down yet, so I swing the age pendulum the other way.

I've dated older, younger and the same age. The older guy tired out way too easily and needed naps all the time! And actually the last guy I dated was 8 years younger and he couldn't keep up with me either! I like to stay at home sometimes, but other times I like to go out and try new things. As guys age, they settle into a comfortable routine and don't often like to try something new. I guess that's why I gravitate to the younger guys.

I mostly date younger men. They seem to be more active and like to get out and enjoy life more than the older ones.
The only problem I have found is that men sometime have a problem with it. They think you are old and boring.
They couldn't be MORE wrong!!! Oh well...their loss!!

Ladies...your so right!
Awhile back I had a 42y old very interested, called every night, we talked, shared hobbies, likes-etc. He eventually either lost interest or tired quickly. What a waste of my time.
I don't wanna grow old & tire at home & be alone, why can't men compensate & compromise w/ women?

Some of us are worth dating... but not carrying a relationship wth.
I typically would go out with or be friends with an older woman but I wouldn't consider having a relationship with one of them.
By the way, read my latest blog.

I would date my own age range if they weren't so old! and the younger guys are afraid of me at my age (66 actually) so I am in the proverbial 'tween rock and hard place....although would be nice if a male was there with me....lol
I don't want to change diapers on too young guys nor too old guys! My prime was "worked away"...my career...now 21 yrs after my divorce and retired...and broke! as well as broken! I wish we did have a "mate store"..and not these dating sites either!
p.s. it's the generation you identify with...not their chronological age!
