Why is it that people don't mind dating interracially, but rarely are they seeking African American women?

Well, I'm not into any women...
I think you have a point though. What is your guess as to why that is?

I've asked that question myself from time to time...I haven't the foggiest idea as to the answer. Personally, I feel that if 2 people like each other, regardless of color, then they should date if they choose to. Being a white male from the South, I do know that I was brought up, (I'm 40 years old), thinking that it was "wrong" to date outside of my own race. Perhaps it's from religious convictions, or just plain old racism...I just don't have an answer for ya...

LOL OK after being on here for a year at least.. I have only met one person.. So I am not sure race has anything to do with it... I am thinking that reality is not meeting up with fantasy.. I think this is on both sides of the fence also not just a man or woman thing.. It perhaps could be racial for some perhaps not I think it all boils down to preference and what one wants out of a relationship.. I can tell you though that if the sexes, races, religion, and political affiliation thing is ever figured one out there is a book and lots of money to be made LOL..

Of *course* we have reality in mind...the mind blowing, hot person on the other end of the computer comes to your house, overlooks all your flaws, inside and out, and falls head over heals in love with you at first sight, followed by hot, steamy sex that requires replacing your bed frame and moving due to complaints by the neighbors... Oh yeah...and she/he brings a friend and the three of you live in a harmonious love triangle for the rest of your lives without a single care... since they're also both rich and want to support you till you die.
That isn't reality?

Ha! Anyone from MY neck of the woods sees this, and I'm in deep trouble.
Hey, I like black women. I'm intimidated by them though. Some of them look like they could whip my butt if I said hello to them. And I wonder if they would be interested in me because I'm not black. It seems like black men are more inclined to date outside their culture than black women.

The African-American women I know that are interested in white men have that emblem ( D.F.W.M.) glued to their forward. Men tend to be intimidated by that..
However most of my female friends (myself encluded) have "that" emblem glued to their head by the time we hit mid life & have been through the proverbial wringer...Ahhh life ain't it grand...Win some you lose some... I think I'll go get some extra strong sandpaper & start working on my forehead...

I think black women are the same as white women and yellow women and pink women and striped women and polka-dotted women... education and the home life they were raised with tend to create different "realities" in different people. Growing up ultra poor with a demanding white landlord and being a "have not" in an area where the "haves" are mostly white people would tend to make most black people pretty predjudiced against whites... on the other hand, being raised in a middle or upper class environment and being educated and treated as equal to any other person, tends to create people with more open minds. When all else is equal, skin color doesn't seem to matter as much and racism seems to lose its appeal.
Personally, I like any color woman with 3 breasts, a side-ways vagina and a co-joined twin sister that's bisexual......but that's just me...I'm a sick puppy.
