Since we are on this why thing.....why is it that women say they are single and looking for that special someone, yet in their photo they are all hugged up with some guy or sitting on his lap. ??????? What is up with that??

well i dont think i have a pic with any men in it, but that goes to the next question, why do men take a photo with a chick and instead of just having a new picture taken, with web cams and throw away cameras they decide to take the pic crop it and take the person out so u see like half a arm of a girl when you mention it, they are like oh thats no one, then later u find out its their current girlfriend

I didn't say that I meant all women. If it doesn't apply, then i'm not talking about you.Yes, that is true. That's what i'm talking about. However, not only men do that. Some ladies are also guilty of the very same thing. Moreover, in my case; it turned out to be her husband and they were still curently married and living together with their 5 children. Go Figure

We are not talking about pictures being posted or not. We were talking about people lying about their pictures that are posted. It is up the person if they want to post a picture or not and respect their choice. That does not mean they are trying to hide something. Me...i chose not to put my picture up. (If that was directed toward me.) It is just a preference; everyone has his or her own. I don't have anything to hide. And by the way, why would a guy worry about other guys pictures being up?? I agree... pictures are completely a personal preference. However, without pictures, most people won't even respond... That is a shame. It just goes to show you how superficial we are now...

Alrighty, dravan, not everyone has the ability to post a photo. I used to have a digital camera...gone...I am not on a computer at my home, so I cannot save one to the files on this computer...come on. I don't even remember how I got my photo posted here. But, I know that I do have one photo saved on my e-mail account. That's where e-mailing someone for a pic comes in. I used to have more on my old computer, but it died. So, give people a chance.

A dead computer can be most un-co-operative. (did I spell that right??) That is understandable for not keeping a good supply of photos. On top of that, many employers frown on such work time activities.
At any rate, women and men should post the best quality image they can so that others can see what they really look like. The images should be no more than two years old and as clear as possible. Webcam and phone cam pictures usually are of extremely poor quality and leave a poor impression. If nothing else, put on your Sunday-go-meeting finery on and go to Sears, Olen-Mills or some other inexpensive studio. Spending a lot of money is not necessary. You can get the photo scanned at many print shops, or one hour photo shops. Most of your images should be fairly close up so your face can be seen clearly. Full length, scenic type pictures just don't cut it. Group pictures, unless with your children or grand-children, are not good.

Hugs are good for your health, even from casual blog thread writers. I have a few to spare.

Re: d_morris about being burned.
Likewise about being burned. Last time I met someone without a photo, she could have been presentable if she had good grooming habits. Sloppy clothes, unkempt hair, no makeup, and deplorable manners do not make a good impression. No matter what a persons physical characteristics, she or he can be neat and presentable. Good grooming is very important in attracting a friend, lover or mate. It also says a lot about what a person thinks about her or him self. There is such a thing as fear of the unknown.
Anyway, there is someone for everyone.

Most of the time, females tend to post pictures like that to take away any insecurity they have about themselves.

Travis, maybe we should get together and exchange a hug or two...
You also have great wisdom concerning the grooming. I used to define good looking as good hygiene and a fairly flat stomach. If a person does not care for himself/herself, why should s/he think that someone else would care for him/her. That caring applies not only to physical appearance, but also to mental and emotional/spiritual health. Perhaps also to financial health. On the other hand, I think sometimes people deliberately or sometimes unconciously downplay themselves to insulate from actually having relationship.
Hmmmmm

lacyvsq,
you have valid points. as have several others here in ths blog
for me, there is another option. I am what you might call, in the limelight. I am very well known throughout Fort Bend County, although the word celebrity would not be appropriate to describe me. nevertheless, it is my decision to remain unseen until I meet someone and then I will share my photo
I would rather remain annonymous (looks wise) for that reason

I tried to cut the guy out of my picture and when it's on the forum as the last one posted, it looks like a fun house mirror deal-but who cares anyway? Some people, like me for instance, don't have a scanner and have to send pictures to my friend in Michigan for her to scan for me. I'm totally dense about all the great things computers do. As for the ones not posting pictures-that's just as good as the ones who post pictures that are 29 years old and 59 pounds ago. Mine's horrible, but...alas...it's fairly recent and I am not trying to hide behind a couch or just have a face shot or whatever-It's full length and it's close up enough to see the real me...for better or worse...

Well, I had a pix without a man in it and it had a camera in it so I covered it up in paint. It turned out lots of fun doing it. In another pix, I covered a pimple up but didn't use the pix. You can open the picture up in paint and copy part of the picture and cover the hand up, lol! If you are good. Pretty fun!
