Is anyone interested in having an MD get-together? I went to CA in May and met 11 other MD members and had a great time. I think it might be fun to have a party a little closer to home. Anyone else interested?

We've had one the last few years in August - Austin, SA... I think the gal who kind of puts it all together is busy this year and no one has stepped in - most have too much going on at the moment.

So were past ones sucessful? Well attended? A good time? Do we want to imitate or innovate?
There is a long time between Labor Day and Thanksgiving. Maybe a weekend -- long for those who have vacation -- somewhere in there might work? Or do we want to try to get something together yet in August?

August can be a hectic time for those who have children getting ready to start school again. I know for me it's always a mad rush to get all the right school supplies, shopping for clothes and shoes, and going to the doctor for check ups. Here in San Antonio most kids will start back on August 14th.
Maybe sometime around Columbus Day weekend or Veteren's Day weekend. The weather is cooler then too.
Just a thought.

Tulsa's in OK. It is already getting late to plan something by Labor Day. Perhaps early October? Tubing on the Guadalupe? Any other suggestions?

Rental of beach houses are real cheap during winter in Crystal Beach. That is across the ferry from Galveston. There is very little ferry traffic during the winter as well. Except for holidays.

I like this idea - we could caravan, car pool or just all show up at the same time same day and pick a staging spot. Thanks for the suggestion redbronze

Maybe a few of us can get together and make this work in a middle of the road, persay place to meet.....so it will be convient for alot of members that live not tooo far away

Is that the place where you can wear costumes? I love costumes. What about a costume party for Halloween? In Galveston they are having a ghost hunter Paranormal Ball at the Balinese Room on the water.
