what i have found, is that it's a good site if you wanna meet people from across the country...or maybe across the world! sorry, but i'm a single mom working full time and going to school! i'm sure as hell not gonna have time for all that!! i just want to meet some local people. ya know??

I came to this site for the free chatroom.
A large bunch of folks used to chat on another site that started to charge us, so we all came here together...........just one day MD had a big group of chatters 
I am just making freinds 'wherever' in the world they happen to be........
....I am an at home mom raising my son and after his bedtime I participate in online chatting for my adult conversations, and some laughs 
I have been here for ALMOST 4 years and just in the last 2 years have I begun to see a couple of people from Utah...............'sigh'.....................MOST Utah singles are doing the LDS sites I guess, but I am not LDS so I am here...........

I'm from that "other" chat sight too... and have been around the block here too.. I moved here from Orange County, So Cal, where I grew up, 7 years ago. I'm a non mormon here. I haven't seen any problems with dating here.. There may be a lack of good clubs and good things to do (tho it's changing) than in So Cal. But, I have found the people friendlier and have more time for each other. I have made a bigger circle of friends here than in 45 years in So Cal. You gotta remember, all of Utah has a population smaller than places like Orange County So Cal.. so yes, the opportunities to get out and meet some one are smaller.. but.. I have met more dates and friends through a friends party or get together  ! I have found people more sociable and tend to get together more often.
Utah is a great place.. and if you are friendly, the people here are friendly too.. Socialize with your friends! You can meet lots of people.. (Heck.. all of us here have a mormon friend who always seems to know someone that wants to get married! )

OK so I learned that The Murray Arts Center has a big singles dance every month 
I make the calls and find out when/where/how much......and then plan to go. 
I get all gussied up and go, thinking I am going to go dancing!!
I get there.............AND............I am 44 and by FAR the 'baby' in this group. There are happy white haired people with walkers doing a groovey move an the dance floor.
I think I will stay a while and see if ANYBODY even SEMI close to my age shows up....  ..but no.. ..come to learn its a single SENIORS dance but nobody made this clear to me.
