New hot chick moves into the neighborhood so my 12 year old son comes running in the house, changes his clothes and grabs his skateboard as he's telling me about her. He said "her butt's so juicy i could stick a straw in it and drink it".
So, the next morning I ask him "so, is she in your grade?". He says "no, she's in high school." I said HIGH SCHOOL???" and he replied "yeah, so what, i've dated older women before."
And, he's referring to the 14 year old g/f he had when he was 11, which is where he got his first french kiss.

My son's 11, and he's still in the Cooties stage. Right now his life plan is to never get married and live with me. Or at least it was until I told him he had to get a job.

My son is way more mature than most kids his age. I think that's due to him growing up around his parents & their friends only... no siblings or friends until he was 10. Never went to daycare and lived in a neighborhood with no kids until a few years ago. The friends he has now are mostly older than him... like 14 - 17.

I think kids definitely mature faster these days-too fast!
A friend, who lives in a very small town, found out his step daughter was wearing full makeup, and she is 10. Boy was he ticked! He took it all away and she borrowed from friends at school. He found THAT out, went to school and was just amazed at how the girls that age -small town too!- dressed, and the makeup.

I can see a world of difference in the quickness of kids growing up these days. But I think that society as a whole plays a large part in this.. there are way more child actors ... models.... etc. than there used to be. And I was just in a shoe store yesterday and they had sandals with cute little butterflies, but they had 1/2' heels on them.. for little (I mean little) girls!!!!

This reminds me of something my 9 year old daughter said...
One morning she says to me "Mom, what are those things that guys wear?" I have no idea what she is talking about. And then she's going "Cu-cu-cu" And I'm like "Cufflinks?" She says "No, what a guy wears when he wants to have sex with you" I managed to stay calm and said "Condom" Of course that was right..It turns out they found one at school. I just kept telling her "Don't touch it" If only she knew how much I was freaking out inside! "Cufflinks?"

Yes, they grow up faster. The make-up thing---yep, 10-year-olds wear it, and wear more than adults! I have friends whose daughters put on makeup, and even changed clothes, after leaving the house to go to school, then washed off the makeup and changed clothes again before they got home (until they got caught).
I don't even want to think about all my daughters' friends who had sex at age 12, 13, 14.....

And again we disagree, might as well get used to it I suppose. I anticipate it happening a lot.
(I'm confused
I don't know THIS screen name)
Kids are so affected by all environments at that age.

I have just read a lot of your other posts, that's all. Not looking to start anything, just saying we have very different opinions on things at times. Your comments addressed toward my post in here are a perfect example. (Are you looking to start something?
I don't post "to" anybody unless they specifically address ME-I just join the conversation and give an opinion.
Start something? pffffft Even with this big ole bad puter betweeen us to save my little behind, I don't work like that.
I'm out of this thread now because it appears to be dredged up once again by a previous axe to grind, and I won't fight battles of wit with the unarmed. Again!

It makes a difference when they have older siblings too! Your boy will learn fast if he has older brothers and sisters! You sound like a caring Dad...

talk about growing up to fast my 5 yr. old boy was getting ready for school a couple of months ago and asked me if Iwould go get his "SEXY!" shorts... Apparently one of the girls in his class had a favorite pair of shorts for him to wear. After a bit of questioning he told me she always asks for a kiss when he wears them, but also added that he told her I was the only girl he was allowed to kiss. LOL I think I'm going to have my hands full very soon.

Enjoy the Cooties Stage while it lasts. Kids really are sweet at that age/stage! :)
