He will pay me support but wants nothing to do in raising them.
What in the WORLD is wrong with that man???? I don't blame you for having difficulty being civil.

I've been divorced twice - and wound up with custody BOTH times! And I wouldn't dream of having it any other way. To not have my kids around on a daily basis is akin to reaching into my chest and just ripping out a vital organ! I just could NOT envision going even a day without them. (Well...3 of them are adults...just one gorgeous 11 year old left to raise - and THEN what will I do! LOL)

How anyone can want NOTHING to do with raising their own children is beyond me. They're a PART of you!

Which is why I can never figure out why my son's mother makes absolutely no attempt to contact our incredibly gorgeous, intelligent, hilariously witty, and all around too-good-to-be true young man!

Oh, and OT: I TRIED both times to stay together...for our sake as well as the sake of the children. The decision ultimately, however, was not mine.

I have come to the conclusion that some people just don't want to be a part of raising their children. Their own adventures and freedom loom greater to them. It is their loss.
