There's very few people from Wisconsin that actually post here... I don't know what it is about this state, but everyone pretty much keeps to themselves...

The Wisconsinites on this site are pretty withdrawn-I spend more time in the NY forums than I do here.

Personally, I haven't found much reason to drop in on this site to begin with.
as for the rest.. I see some say wisconsin people are withdrawn.. if you talk to people in other states, they consider people here very rude and wrapped up in themselves moreso than other states.
as for why I don't drop by.. with about a dozen women within 2 hours of me listed as looking for somone and active within the past month.. need I say more?

if you talk to people in other states, they consider people here very rude and wrapped up in themselves moreso than other states. If that's the way they feel-they are cordially and enthusiastically invited to kiss my cheesy fat Wisconsinite ass! People here aren't any less friendly or hospitable than anywhere else-they just don't go around patting themselves on the back about it all the time.

If that's the way they feel-they are cordially and enthusiastically invited to kiss my cheesy fat Wisconsinite ass! I think you just proved their point. Definately defensive and rude in your reply instead of pondering why others may think that way. Sure am glad everyone doesn't think that way.

I think you just proved their point. For years, people on the coasts have referred to places like this as "flyover country." A lot of comedians in those places will get a laugh from their audience just by saying "Milwaukee" or "Wisconsin." These so-called "cultured" elitists think they're better than the folks from the Heartland, and as far as I'm concerned, they can take their uppity attitudes and shove 'em where the sun don't shine...I grew up on the west coast; I've heard it first hand...and many of these people don't even realize how different their lives would be without what the Midwest does for this country! This state -Wisconsin- is responsible for:
*In 1911, the 1st workers compensation program in the US *In 1932, the first state to pass a law authorizing monetary benefits for unemployed workers * In 1945, the first state to provide payments to persons who required continual care because of permanent disabilities *In 1856, the first kindergarten in the US *The first system of numbered state highways-predating the US highway system by several years *On June 10, 1919, became the first state to ratify the 19th amendment granting national suffrage to women *In 1868, the first typewriter-that keyboard in front of you look familiar? *In 1908, the 1st 4-wheel-drive automobile *In 1882, the 1st hydroelectric power plant *In 1925, the first state to require doctors and persons treating the sick to complete training in the basic sciences of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and diagnosis *In 1884, the 1st Ringling Bros. Circus *The 1st Ice Cream Sundae *In 1854, the Republican Party *In 1921, the first state to enact a comprehensive certification law for public librarians *In 1911, the first modern state law for administering apprenticeships *In 1933, the first state to prohibit the use of race or national origin as factors in hiring teachers *In 1965, prohibited unlawful discrimination on the basis of handicap in hiring properly qualified persons *In 1982, prohibited discrimination in employment, housing, and public places of accommodation or amusement on the basis of sexual orientation *the first state in the nation to require seat belts installed in all cars sold beginning with the 1962 model year *In 1970, the first to prohibit the sale and distribution of DDT
So much of the rest of the country wants to make fun of us, dismiss us, and then get miffed because we might have an "attitude?" Hey-East Coasters can turn their noses up because they're more cultured; West Coasters because they're more "beautiful," and Southerners because-well, whyever they think they're better than us...and God Bless 'em, this is the USA, and everybody can -and should- have pride in their localities; it keeps us all vibrant. However, I'm a MIDWESTERNER, a HEARTLANDER, a WISCONSINITE, and -most of all- a MILWAUKEEAN! I refuse to apologize for it; I refuse to downplay it, I refuse to believe that I'm less of a "Real Amurrrikin" because of it.
So, to reiterate-they are cordially and enthusiastically invited to kiss my cheesy fat Wisconsinite ass!

Thats how people are here in WI. They have no refinement whatsoever. If you're in their way, they don't know how to say "excuse me", they just stare at you till you move.
