I am moving to edmonton in about a year... I am going to the Grant MacEwan College.. My brother is getting stationed in the army over there in about 2 months and I'm wondering if the army base is really far out of town.. or how exactly it works.. I just want to find out if he's going to be close enough that I can live with him.. or if i'll have to live on my own................

If he's going to the army base at Nameo it's pretty close to the city but if he's going to the Airforce base at Cold Lake it's not. Does that help any?

not really but it does.. lol. I'll have to look it up on a map somewhere and find out where those two places are. I haven't been talking to him for a couple weeks because he's been busy (he's in another province right now) but he's coming back for a month from may to june and I'll be able to find out more then. I just wanted to know if it was close enough that I could live in the PMQ's with him instead of renting an apartment by myself. But I won't have a car so It probably won't work if it's nowhere close. I don't know anything about Edmonton so I guess i'd better start finding out! lol thanks! :)

If your brother is being stationed on the base, even Nameo which is close to the city, commuting to Grant Macewan everyday for classes is going to be a gruelling drive, and virtually impossible if you don't get a car. It's not too difficult to find a place to rent here right now, hopefully it won't be much different come april next year.... heh, I just noticed that this thread has been more or less dead for over two months.... oh well.
