I am looking for a really great campsite (tent camping) in B.C.
Especially interested in great spots on Vancouver Island or any of the Gulf Islands and places without a lot of bear or cougars (tent camping...remember!!!)
Thanks!

Bears tend to make a mess of your campsite and tent.........that's all.

Well it's nowhere near any island, but Nancy Greene Lake near Castlegar is great. It's really small and not a tourist trap. Also Blanket Creek near Revelstoke is wonderful if you have kids.

Hi! There are lots of places to camp from Naniamo up. Get a backroad map book. Some places are totally roughing it and some are pay as you go. Done lots of tent camping and commone sence helps keep animals away. Leave NO food out, burn garbage, ect. Bears and cougars are part of living in B.C. but don't let that stop you.

So alls i can say is go experience and enjoy what beautifull b.c. has to offer......and if ya are into fly fishin send me a holler......got some mighty fine lakes up here in the north okanogan.........cheerz

Are the kokanee coming back to Lake Okanagan yet?
That was a crying shame, that and all the milfoil........I grew up fishing there......and it was the best!
I picked up an new little graphite pole this last summer..........but I have to tell you.....I suck on fly fishing.....all I do is catch the trees behind me real well.......
But I am great for keeping the campfires burning.......cleaning and cooking anything that you'd catch!

Cathedral Forest on Vancouver Island, it is like being in an enchanted forest it is so beautiful and amazing. It is in the middle of the island between Nanaimo and Toffino. I haven't actually camped there but have drove through and one day soon I will go back and camp.
