~sigh~ I was six years old at the starting point on that site, but I dug back and found that it was Paper Doll by the Mills Brothers, which was the top selling song for the year (1943).
Freckles - I googled Billboard charts for my birthday to find it...we can just think of ourselves as 'golden oldies'...

Here they are....my birthday songs:
1. PRISONER OF LOVE Perry Como...I guess that means I'm "doing life"
2. TO EACH HIS OWN Eddy Howard...and keep your hands off what's mine
3. THE GYPSY Ink Spots...I always did like the way they dressed
4. FIVE MINUTES MORE Frank Sinatra ...I bet my mom wasn't saying that
5. RUMORS ARE FLYING Frankie Carle...that mom was going to have triplets(although I probably was as much trouble as 3!)

The first song I ever remember hearing and singing along to was "Because of You" (Tony Bennet?) ....and I have idea why I remember that (good grief, really early 50's, methinks)

Oh boy...for me it was Ballerina, by Vaughn Monroe, and I know why I remember it...I'd had my tonsils out and my dad wanted to get me something to make me feel better, but he had to get the Buddy Clark version. I can still remember how worried he looked that I wouldn't like it, and all I could think of was how much I loved him for caring...I was about 4 then. Damn, I really DON'T ever forget anything, that would have been nearly 60 years ago.

Did you try your "life theme song", too? Mine was "Afternoon Delight" (Starland Vocal Band)
