"Bonfier of the Vanities" (Tom Wolfe)
Now it's "Sole Survivor" (Dean Koontz) ...and I actually paid full price for it at our 24-hour WalMart -- I was desperate to read SOMETHING at 3AM and had run out of my dozens and dozens of thrift shop books )

A Land Remembered by Patrick D. Smith....a novel about Florida, spanning 4 generations of a family and almost 100 years (1863-1968).....if I have to live here (for now), I might as well learn about it.

right now i'm reading "The Cathars & Reincarnatiion" - having to do with Catharism and well duh, reincarnation. Very interesting stuff. The Cathars are synonymous with Gnostic type beliefs. Before this book - i've never heard of Catharism. I'm really entrhalled and amazed that for something i've never heard of - it espouses so many beliefs that I either try to practice in my life - or try to strive for, such as not eating animals (although they did eat fish), not harming any life, reincarnation, etc....

Have any of you ever read any of Christine Feehan's Dark series books? She is totally awesome. This series is a gothic, supernatural, vampire romance. I thought it would be kinda cheesy, but the first book of hers that I read, I could not put down.
I'm waiting for her to put out her new one on Sept 5...called DARK CELEBRATION. I have all the other ones that she has written.

Sunbabe, I get almost all of my books from the library. I also found out that the more you use the library, the more funds they get from the government. Support your local library!

I know this sounds stupid, but the main reason I don't go to the library is because most of the books are hardcover and are too heavy on my poor li'l ol' tendonitis ridden arms when I read in bed -- and I do a lot of reading in the bath tub, so pages tend to curl or warp. Ridiculous, but true.
