Today I ran across a quote by Ann Landers that just cracked me up. It said
"One out of four people in this country is mentally unbalanced. Think of your three closest friends; if they seem OK...then you're the one".
My favorite was
"The problem of talking to fast is that you may say something you haven't thought of yet"
(sounds like my teenage daughter)...lmbo.

I wish I could find the quote but I think it was CS Lewis saying that a benevolent opressor is more dangerous than a malevolent opressor because a benevolent opressor isn't bothered by conscience.

He that gives up essential liberty for security deserves neither liberty nor security....

WOW....Ya'll (I'm from the south) have great ones. I was thinking of this quote I made up but I don't know if I was the first person who said it.
"The purpose of life is to live life with a purpose"
I'm always saying stuff like that to my daughter and asked her the question once "Where do you find beauty in things that are not so beautiful?" She didn't know so I told her. Until you find beauty in yourself, you will never see the beauty in anything or anyone"

I have two I'm particularly amused by.
"If it was so, it might be; and it were so, it would be; but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic."
- Lewis Carrol, In Philosophy
"Be what you would seem to be - or, if you'd like it put more simply - never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise."
- Lewis Carroll, In Philosophy
