Not getting phone calls from collection agencies...(my ex 'managed' the money - my favorite was when he bought a cashmere coat for himself, but threw a fit when I asked for money for milk for the kids...oops no, that wasn't my favorite, the best was when he emptied the bank account, most of which I'd deposited, to buy his girl friend a car).
So being alone for me is being responsible for myself and not having to depend on someone else...which can be a very good thing.

peace...quiet music after the 10 yr old is sleeping. Calmness.
Sometimes it's the emptiness but I have really tried to embrace the blessing of having time for me instead of the bummer of not always having someone to spend it with.
