to see that Arnold"Red" Auerbach had passed away though I had never met him he is resposible for some of most fondest childhood memories ..for those who are sports fans and those that live in the north east he was a larger than life figure ...I will miss him

So my question what person who you never met has died that affected you ??

my others are

Dale Earnhardt
Ronald Reagan
Pope John Paul II( not a cathloic but thought he was a great man )

Jerry Goldsmith. The day he died was perhaps the saddest day of my life.

Mine would be John Kennedy Jr, Christopher Reeves (because of his courage) and Rodney Dangerfield (because he was so damn funny).

Good one, Norway.

Natalie Wood. I still remember the day it was reported on the news. It was pouring rain, and I was putting together a jigsaw puzzle. The rest of the day, I was in a daze.

I have often wondered if she had a premonition of her death, as she was afraid of water. During the filming of "Splendor in the Grass", there was a scene she had a difficult time doing, because she was afraid she would drown. At least, that is what I was told.

Princess Diana..just sooo sad..I cried watching her funeral on TV.Even now, when I think of how tortured she was.both in her head, and her life..makes my nose tingle.
She actually had a chance at happiness, and I really believe that if she was still here, the Monarchy would be changed and possibly the world. If she was still here. Charles would have a snowballs chance in hell of ascending the throne..Now you've got me started..

JFK

I will never forget that day or the days that followed.

Elvis.

I found it so sad that he got hooked on drugs and lost his life. He brought so much to the world with his music.
