Happy Halloween! My oldest (16) will not go trick or treating. My youngest (12) will go out this one last year. He is staying at a friends and they haven't even decided what they are dressing up as. I will stay home and hand out little toys I ordered from Oriental trading. Last year we had 150 trick-or-treaters!! I ended up scrounging through the cupboards looking for snack cakes or anything I could find since I had run out of candy. Also took candy out of my kids' candy bags to give out! I was desperate! This year I ordered a gross of several kinds of toys so I am ready for 'em!!

My little princess is all ready and toting costume to school for her party and parade this afternoon!

150??? Wow. I remember those days! Now, though, we are lucky if we get twenty. It's so sad, but many parents around here are afraid to send/take their kids out. Some just have parties at home and buy their own candy.
(I'd like to thank the miserable SOB's who've poisoned candy in the past for that--NOT!!)

El dia de los Muertes - the day of the dead! Not doing much this year, but a real Mexican day of the dead feast would be really interesting...

Got candy. Got pumpkins. This is one of my personal "high holy days" so I'm on vacation. Will spend time today with my carving tools, clear off the front porch, pull out the goofy old silly light-up-pumpkin deely-boppers, and prepare to "Ooooo!" and "Ahhhh!" over the wee ones that will come a'knockin' at my door.

Only Naughty Children See Spooks on Halloween

Witches and goblins, spooks and elves,
With sprites and gnomes from elf-land delves,
Tonight are flying here and there,
Yes, up and down and everywhere.
For this one night in all the year
They rule the earth and bring great fear
To all the naughty little boys
Who tease good girls and break their toys.
These spooks they also make girls sad
When they are selfish, cross and bad;
So when it's dark, bad boys and maids,
They see these awful fearsome shades,
And that is why with covered heads,
They trembling lie in their warm beds.
But even there they goblins see,
Spooks and gnomes, and all that be
Abroad upon weird Halloween
When all the wizards may be seen
By naughty kids and grown-up folks
Who like to play most wicked jokes.
But good young girls and gentle boys,
The kids who are their mothers' joys
They like the dark just as the light,
For spooks never come within their sight,
And in their dreams they lovely elves
Show them bright scenes from fairy delves.
So, if tonight you are afraid
Of any spook or any shade,
We'll know you are a naughty child,
So cross and willful, rude and wild.

I'm hanging out with the New Mexico goblins tonight. Have no idea what town I will be in, but I may have my hotel room door egged. I have no treats. Guess I could do a trick.

I love it too, Dwain. The little ones are so cute in their costumes. Last year, sadly, I didn't have one single Trick or Treater. Most of the areas have Halloween parties for the kids, so it is a safer environment. They don't go door-to-door like they used to.

The one good thing (or maybe not) was, I got to eat the Reeses and Almond Joys myself.

" HAPPY HALLOWEEN... EVERYONE "

I have the treats ready for the little ones...
IF I have any little goblins to show up! I've been in my apt. 6 years and have
never had a trick-or-treater to show up!

They have several parties around here for the children to attend, to keep
them off the streets.

I will have my 2 little grandsons and the little girl next door... so I've made them
huge 'goody bags'. I just know the parents will love me for that... especially
when the little ones are bouncing off the walls due to the 'sugar rush'

Still have a lot of goodies left....

Chocolate Anyone???

That IS funny, Danger!

I don't worry about eating the kids' candy because I buy bags of it just for me.
