Hunting....Matt shot his 1st buck!!

It's that time of year here in WI....deer season. Matt was out with his dad opening day and shot his 1st buck. This is his 1st time out, carrying a gun. It was only a button buck, but still a buck. I'm sooooooo proud of him!! A friend of ours came and cut it up for us yesterday.  There wasn't too much meat left on him, because Matt shot him 3 times. He wanted to make sure he was a goner, I guess. He hollared down to his dad, "Dad, I got one", his dad replied with, "What did you get?" Matt says, "A doe". His dad walked up and said to him, "That isn't a doe" Matt says, "How do you know?".....His dad comes back with, "It has *uts"
We're going to have the "little horns", when we find them....LOL put on a plaque for him.
He said to me Sunday night, "I'm sooooooo happy Jason helped me get this buck"
It touched my heart so much for him to know his brother was out there hunting with him.

Thanks Everyone!
We were going to take it to the locker to get jerky and venison sticks made out of it....but there's just not enough left to take.....LOL
He's going out again with his dad. His dad is picking him up after school to stay until Friday, when he has to be home for Thanksgiving supper. If he hasn't gotten his Tirdy Point Buck by then, he'll be going out Saturday with my adopted son Chase.
He's so pumped about hunting. It's so cute!! I am truely VERY PROUD of the little man he's become!!

Oh Ponie, that is wonderful!
I remember when my son got his first one, I was so proud of him too! He was so proud, we were having some hard times and it fed us that winter.
Yes, you must get him a plaque made with those buttons. That will be something he will treasure forever.

Woo hoo.. congratulations! "Lovin' Man" is going this weekend and Cole and I are going to go with him next weekend! Hopefully Matt's luck will rub off on us! Tell him to send some mojo our way!

I got home about 6 pm last night from picking up the baby to watch for the night, and Matt came outside to greet us. He wasn't s'pose to be home from his dad's until Friday night, for supper.
He says, "Mom, look in the tree". I said, "did you get the tirdy pointer this time?" He said, "No, I got a doe though"
So, 2 deer his 1st year out. I'm VERY VERY HAPPY for him, and VERY VERY PROUD, as well. This one WILL be sent to the locker for jerky and venison sticks!!
He's going Saturday and Sunday. He's STILL after that tirdy pointer!!
Again, he said to me.....I'm so glad Jason was out there with me hunting Mom, and helped me get this one. He's missing his brother so bad, I think.
