What do you feel about December 8 being proclaimed a holiday, a day of peace in honor of John Lennon? This idea was kicked around among hardcore fans like myself for awhile, there's even a petition out there somewhere, but Yoko Ono recently proposed this idea, as well.

I'm totally in favor of it becoming a holiday, I've been going to Strawberry Fields since I was fourteen years old.
His memory will never die, and I think he does rest in peace. I dont' see how celebrating his life would obstruct that?

I think the banks and US post office get enough "holidays" as it is!

John Lennon certainly had and has a influence on music and the peace movement here. And a day in where we could take time out to remember what he stood for and for world peace would not be a bad thing.

Youve a good idea but I think a world holiday for peace would be more appropriate than a national holiday.I wouldnt do it in the honor of one peace activist from Britain, but in the honor of all.

Why not celebrate Elvis Day?
Ok, I am all for peace, worldwide! But not in honor of one man. And I LOVE John Lennon, thought he had some of the most thought provoking lyrics. Just not sure I want a holiday in his honor.
Is there not already some sort of "peace" day?
Should'nt everyday be peace day?
