Ohio woman faces aggravated murder charge in death of 1-month-old
DAYTON, Ohio - A woman suspected of killing her month-old daughter by putting her in a microwave oven was indicted on a charge of aggravated murder Thursday, and the prosecutor said he would seek the death penalty.
The indictment against China Arnold, 26, does not provide details on the death of Paris Talley.
Investigators have said evidence that includes high-heat internal injuries and the absence of external burn marks on the baby were consistent with a microwave oven. The baby died on Aug. 30, 2005. Her mother was arrested last week.
"The Montgomery County coroner came to the conclusion that the injuries sustained by this baby could have only been caused by being placed into a microwave oven and having that oven turned on and (cooking) the baby to death," Montgomery Country Prosecutor Mathias Heck Jr. said at a news conference.
Heck declined to discuss a possible motive or release any other details about the case. He said Arnold would be subject to the death penalty if convicted because the victim was a child.
Defense attorney Jon Paul said Arnold had nothing to do with her child's death. He said Arnold and the child's father had left Paris with a baby sitter the night before she found the baby unconscious.
"China has the moral courage and the confidence in her God that the truth will come out in this case," Rion said. "We will seek every single way possible to communicate to our government and to the jury in this case that China is innocent of all the charges."
Arnold is being held on $1 million bond. Heck said he will ask the court to order her held without bail at a hearing Tuesday.

I actually cried when I first heard about this. I know how those microwaves work and it just hurts so bad to imagine what that poor innocent baby went through.
God Bless that child.

i really think that they should go after the eceltric chair on this woman so that way she can see what her child went through or worse! and if she doesn't get the death penalty well ten good luck to her in prison if she is not in for a far worse fate! but not near as bad as what her child went through! may god have no mercy on this person !

I just finished reading the article before I logged on here and like everyone else was very sick and disguested. It is very hard for me to realize that there are people out there who are that sick as to place a baby in a MW and turn it on. As other have said it would be a very horrible way to die. Not sure that there is an apporpriate punishment for this but think maybe a really big microwave that the Mother would fit in might be appropriate.

The sickness in some people is simply stomach-churning. I sincerely hope the death penalty is in operation in Ohio.
Edited to add that I see the Death Penalty is in operation there!

I would be very surprised if she got the death penalty. Her lawyer could always argue that she is insane as it is obvious that no sane person would ever think of doing something so horrible.

Her mother was arrested last week. It took over a year to arrest this witch?
Arnold would be subject to the death penalty if convicted because the victim was a child. Good. Hope they use the chair and no water on that sponge, like in that movie. (Green Mile?)
He said Arnold and the child's father had left Paris with a baby sitter the night before she found the baby unconscious. What parent DOESN’T check their kids the minute they get home to relieve the sitter?
"China has the moral courage and the confidence in her God that the truth will come out in this case," Funny how so many criminals get “saved” once they are arrested.
I'm scared to think a human that would do that You’re a lot more forgiving than I am if you still call this witch “human”.
Father Jesus Christ please take this child to your heaven I believe He did.
may god have no mercy on this person ! I doubt He will.
I volunteer to flip the switch on this monster. Oh can I help? (I will hide the bucket of water for the sponge). Sorry, but I have been a kid advocate since I was one, and come from a long line of them. This, or any abuse of a child just makes me ...GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

This is sick.
There are so many parents wanting to adopt. Why not GIVE the child away? Why are mothers and fathers killing their innocent children?
Are children such a burden that we lose our minds, morals and soul's just to keep them quiet and fed?
What state of mind must you be in to torture your child like this? There is something profoundly wrong with this picture.

My son being the true hyperactive monster when he was about three years old, placed one of our Siamese cats in the microwave. He actually plugged it in, set the timer and just about to switch "on". On impulse, I screamed and ran directly to him to drag out "Taddy" with a sigh of relief! Following day, the micro was sold!
The exploits of "Taddy" falling asleep in the washing machine, or dryer, or under the hood of the car, or...... (list goes on)
The exploits of my son and his hyperactivity.... geeeesh.... too scary to mention!
Sorry, just needed to get of the "baby in the micro" thoughts. "Nasty"!

It has taken me HOURS after reading this to be calm enough to respond. (still not positive)
I have said for years that what ever crime a person does, it should be done to them.
As Graywolf said, find a microwave big enough to hold her and cook HER to death. She deserves no less, but OH will she get it. (less) Even IF they give her the death penalty, it will be YEARS before it is carried out. Why should tax payers bear the burden of keeping her alive?
Gyspy has the right idea.
Good. Hope they use the chair and no water on that sponge, like in that movie. (Green Mile?)

I cannot fathom how anyone could do this insane or not..I mean how could a woman carry a child for 9 months THEN destroy that life?? the more I think about htis the MORE I am a firm believer in KARMA... for nothing we as the public could do would be equal to what Karma has in store... even just the realization of what she has done and guilt finally setting in will haunt her forever
