I left the forums for a while. I was very busy with the children and started a new position in my pre-school as the head teacher of the 2 year old room. Well, I'm back in the forums, did anyone notice?

Well I don't know who you are but welcome back lol. I am just returning to the forums a few days ago, from alongggg time away. Congrads on your new position and hope its going well. When I was first in college, I did an internship with 1-2 year olds. I think there the most challenging age!

I didn't notice...so sorry...but I was just starting to get to know you. Several people hid out about the same time you did, so I assumed you were all lurking until the waters calmed again.
I'm glad you didn't stay gone. I'll have time to get to know you better. I have taught all ages (subbing), and the pre-school and kindergarten age groups are exhausting, but rewarding. I thought I wanted to teach kindergarten. Let me tell you, it is NON-STOP. You go from one class assignment to the next, and I was amazed at how much material we shove into those little minds. They really don't have much playtime, which I think is important for learning to get along with peers. It made me change my mind, and I discovered I most enjoyed teaching the third and fourth graders. They were more independent.

Classy, you are right, very tiring. I subbed for a while, loved 3rd grade! Then taught 5 year old (Pre-K) for 10 years. School closed down, so I went to my new school, been there for 3 years. 1st year was in the infant room. After being in there for 10 months became preg. with my (now) 2 year old! The infant room is contagous! lol Spent the past 1 1/2 years working in the office which I loved. Then this position opened up and my boss asked me if I would take it and try and spice up the room a litttle. Lots of "at home" stuff, but my kids help me at night! Provides togetherness at home and I love my babies at school. Win Win situation!!!!
Thanks for the warm returns from everyone!

Hi Angel....welcome back... .have you noticed that .....sometimes ..... for lack of a 'better' term... 'gifted' children {{of a certain category}} rebel against a '' too structured scenario in kindergarten.
I used to think, as others did,,,,,, that a certain little girl of my aquaintance had AHDD... but her behavior was exemplary.... (at school anyway) ...after viewing some home videos and seeing her 'now'....I'm inclined to believe the 'gifted' theory that I rejected earlier.
Jeeeesh...this empty nest syndrome is the pits....especially when the youngest is only 16....she is away from home because my area doesn't provide the opportunities she needs.
