I was a really, really quiet nerd. Four-eyed, overbite, shy.
Now, I give a rat's arse about who thinks what about me.. so, though I am not cool, I think am aging like good cheese (I was gonna use fine wine, but that has been done to death).. tastier, sassier, and bolder...
and I have my own power tools, know how to use em, and my vewwrrry own riding gear! yeeeee hawwww!

I've never been a joiner, I've always been a loner... I have a small circle of friends... and I refuse to be anything but myself, and comfortable....

then: a smartmouthed kid, who thought she had all the answers and no one knew or understood her.
now: listens a bit more, knows there are those that have lived through those hard times, listens to grandma's stories and takes away a great deal. No longer is a smarta$$
But, I've always been kinda geeky, and flamboyant.

Growing up with brothers and about 10 neighborhood boys, I was all tomboy. Playing house, dolls didn't hold an ounce of the fun that football, digging foxholes and playing army did. So, I'd say I was both a geek and nerd; all monkey arms and legs.
As for today, I'm probably still a geek and nerd. Give me the outdoors anyday and I'm probably still too competitive in sports for my own good. I'd like to think I've mellowed a bit though and wearing a dress at times does appeal to my feminine side.

I was always the dare-devil organizer of my neighborhood and my "ideas" materialized on top of our HUGE sleding hill. Yep, it was me who got everyone going down the hill on our sleds standing up on them!! Or when the top and 1/2 way down the hill was almost pure ice from sledding, melting, re-freezing,etc and I get everyone to go home and get their ice skates on.....what a rush that was, skating down a hill! I remember many times when I'd get home, my mom saying on the phone, "Linda did what!!??!! Just one reason why we moved to Florida....

Luv..... just making sure you were paying attention. I'm not really a smartass am I ? OK....maybe and yeah...you are too...but in a good way... Oh I don't deny it one little bit, and I didn't say it was a BAD thing. Its fun, but it does get me into trouble sometimes. Some people don't know how to take me and I hurt their feelings. I DON'T mean to, I just wanna have fun

LOL... twotall... "drinking corn liquor". That reminded me of when I was young.
My great uncle owned this small, country grocery store. It was so much like the grocery store from the sitcom "Waltons".. Ikes grocery I think was the name. Anyway, inside my uncle's store wasn't much at all. I long bar running the length of the store, a few canned goods behind it, candy jars on the bar. AND, an area of couches, chairs and checkerboards, woodstove.
I learned only a few years ago that he made moonshine. When I was told, a lighbulb in my head lit. I realized it wasn't really a store at all but a gathering place for the men to come and drink moonshine, socialize and play checkers.
Memories... I feel so blessed to have so many sweet ones growing up.

I guess the only Clique i ever joined was the kiddie clique..I spent most of my spare time hanging out with little kids...babysitting..maybe thats why the child within` sneaks up on me all the time .Imagine a 15 year old babysittng 12 kids at a time..I was popular in that way, kids loved me, parents loved me..everyone wanted me but the boys..
