Ok...this is the first time I've posted in here....and here's the deal. I'm 21...about three months ago I slept with somebody and the condom broke. So of course I was worried about being pregnant. But I also knew that it was going to be difficult to tell just based on missed periods because mine has always been very irregular. So I waited about a month after we had sex to take a pregnancy test. It turned out negative. Now it's almost three months later and I still havn't had my period...about a week ago I thought I was and was relieved...but it turned out to be not normal...I wasn't bleeding heavily... it was more spotting and darker brown. And it only lasted about five days. I had some cramping along with it and still am having some sharp shooting pains. I'm very worried because after I got a negative pregnancy test result I put it out of my mind and I drank a couple times since then...and now I'm worried about miscarrying if I'm even pregnant. The other thing is that I had absolutely no symptoms...no morning sickness or anything. Possibly fatigue but I work full time as a pharmacy technician so it doesn't really mean anything that I've been tired. I have no idea what to think...I know I should take another pregnancy test but it'll be a week or so because I'm off of work for vacation and I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere at my moms house without a car and I just wondered if anyone in here had any opinions they could share with me...if it sounds like I am pregnant or if I should be worried about anything. I would really appreciate it.

Unfortunately I don't think there's any real way you can test without a kit or having a Dr do it. But it definitely sounds like you need to make a doctors appointment asap. Even if you're not pregnant, it sounds like things down there aren't working like normal for you, which is the first indicator that something's not right. I hope everything works out for you.
P.S. I noticed so far it's just been us dudes answering, i'm sure it's only a matter of time before the ladies come in and give their "more informed" side of things.

Bella...You probably should see a doctor, but since you stated that you have irregular periods, you're probably ok. Have you ever gone 3 months w/o a normal period before? The darker brown you describe is usually old blood, like at the end of a period. Where are the sharp shooting pains? Alot of women have pain on either side where your ovaries are, when they ovulate (drop a egg). Not to alarm you but you could have a ectopic pregnancy (where a fertilized egg plants itself in the fallopian tube and it doesn't register on a pregnancy test. BUT....if that were the case, you would be in extreme pain, wanting to go to the ER. Again, you should see a doctor soon, just to be safe.

You say you are stuck in the middle of nowhere without a car....hon I'm worried there could be an etoptic pregnancy...and...or...your emotional stress.
Is there no way you can get to a doctor...are you worried about asking someone to take you because this is a very 'personal' issue.???
Sending lots of hugs sweetie.....hoping you find a way to get to a doctor....how far away are you from a clinic....here in Canada we have walk in clinics...no appointment needed...don't hesitate tho to bump up your appointment by telling the secretary that it could be etoptic even if you don't have proof.

Immediarely !!!! Right now!! Go to a Gyn Clinic...If you have no medical insurance, call the county You're in and tell them you need immediate transportation to a Gyn clinic, have a pap smear done, and have a test done on the scrapings of your vaginal walls. I'm sorry dear, but my way is what you have to do immediately!!!..If you find you're pregnant, please ma'am, do not have an abortion...that is another human being you may have inside of you. Also, while they stretch your opening to to a scrape for testing purposes, they will be able to see if the placenta, is fully formed!!!!!!! Trust me!! On this i know exactly what i am talking about!!...Also beware of fistulas can happen if you do not do what i am telling you!!....Earl

Sounds very much like you are pregnant to me. I spotted during my first pregnancy, it is very common. A few glasses of wine once or twice most likely will not hurt your baby. They used to recommend that women drink wine during pregnancy.
Go to the doctor, and find out for sure. Why aren't you using some kind of birth control yourself if you are going to have sex?

Ah Bella ... I do hope you check back here & take the advice to see a doc ASAP.
Having tested negative with an over the counter pregnancy test does not guarantee that you are not, were not pregnant. Those things are not 100% accurate. From the descriptions of your symptoms I would GUESS that you may have been pregnant & are in the process of having a miscarriage. The darker brown bleeding/spotting indicates old blood. The continued cramping, however probably means there is something in utero.
Presently pregnant? In the midst of a miscarriage? Bleeding & cramping?
SEE A DOCTOR !!!
You do not want to end up with an infection or hysterectomy or (worst case senerio) dying from disseminated intravascular coagulation. (Saw that happen when I was in nursing school ... 19 yr old had miscarriage, told no one, became infected & died)
Best of luck.

Bella....you can see we care for you.....let us know what's happening even if it means you havn't seen a doctor yet......I know how fear can sometimes paralyze us and we think we can't face people who have given us advice if we havn't followed it.....if that's happening....come here anyway....or email me personally.
Maggie
P.S. Bev....please...for the love of God....NOW is NOT the time to add guilt to this poor little girls fear and anxiety. The prodigal son didn't hear it and neither should she....don't scare her away she sounds very vulnerable right now.

Bella, In most states you can go to any ER and they have to see you, cash or no, and you will have your privacy, but sweetie Please do as most if not all of us has suggested see a doctor immediately. It is always best to know, I am sure you are scared and nervous , finding out for sure will only help your feelings. See a doctor, and let us know you are okay. Take good care of you!! Pixie

Thank you all for your responses. I havn't been to the doctor yet or anything. But I'm going to pick up another pregnancy test tomorrow and see what comes of that. The cramping has stopped for now. So I hope it's just a scare. It means a lot that you guys care about me even though you don't know me. It helps get through this a little easier. Merry Christmas everyone. ~Liz

See an Obstetrician or a Gynaecologist or medical specialist. You should stop by a clinic right away because the information you are getting off this website probably isn't from qualified people.

The information she got off this website from everyone was "SEE a DOCTOR"
The additional information/possibilities was from "qualified people" -- WOMEN.

Just a little fyi... ...a store bought preg test can show you not pregnant... but you have to remember, it takes a certain level of hormone change to trigger that little pink stripe. I personally know of a case where three store bought tests came back negative. All were used in the first two months. That young lady ended up finding out(when she was 4 months pregant!) that it is possible to have periods & show nothing out of the ordinary. It wasn't until her bust size doubled that she double checked with a doctor. Oh boy was she ever pregnant! Bottom line, buck up, see the ol doc. Don't wait... sometimes waiting is the straw that breaks the camel's back!
(good luck) :)

I wouldn't waste any more time and money on home test kits. Listen to everyone's advice (especially Jen-she works in the field) See a doctor-and let us know.

And just by the way...even if you're not pregnant, that doesn't mean there isn't something going on that's better off being nipped in the bud than waiting to see what develops.
It's just sooooo much better being safe than sorry, and pregnancy isn't the worst thing that can happen to you. I'm no expert, but I respect the opinions of those above me....get to a doctor and make sure you're okay...please!
