What was the first thing you smiled about this Christmas?
Mine was at 2am this morning when my daughter knocked on my bedroom door, wished me Merry Christmas, and crawled into bed with me and fell asleep again straightaway..
Happy Christmas everyone, from across the big pond.

Ah, sweet memories of my daughter when young, little feet slapping along the wooden floor, the click of the door handle and crawling into my bed and falling asleep again. Thanks China, you made me smile too.

You gave me my first smile of the day also China. When I opened my mail and now with this thread.
You are lucky, my kids would have wanted to open presents at that time of the morning! I remember a few years when I had to tell them not yet! Having only just gotten to bed myself. Now they understand and laugh about it.
I do miss the days when mine would crawl in bed with me and snuggle up and fall back to sleep.

Just seeing all of you in the forums, makes me smile, and many times when we say nice things to each other, like many said to me yesterday, i not only smile, but i have tears from the warm and happy feeling i feel inside.
You are people, and i do care about all of you.
Please have a very Merry Christmas, and without you folks, i would feel sad, but i'm smiling now because i see you are all happy!!!!!!!!...with love...Earl

The first smile......my younger sister called me at 5:45 this morning. Her children had been up for an hour wanting to open their presents, she wouldn't let them till they called and woke up their Aunt. I told her to stop being such a mean mom and let those "poor children" open their gifts from Santa Claus. It made me smile to think she had to wish me a Merry Christmas before they began their day. My family....is the very best.

My first smile came this morning when I recieved an E Card from someone very Special to me. Being alone, and spending Christmas alone is something many people are doing today. My heart goes out to every one of you. I've spent the past four alone, and although I have family, and friends to spend it with, there still is that empty spot, and feeling that Christmas is just not complete. This Christmas, I have been fortunate, and this Special person has allowed me to be a little part of thier Christmas, and thier life. I feel very Blessed to have the Friendship this person has given to me, and for the very first Smile I recieved this Christmas Morning. I will carry that Smile with me the whole Day, and all through the Holidays. Just because there was someone who cared enough to take the time to offer to me thier own personal wishes for a Merry Christmas. If that person reads this, they will know it is them I am refering to, and I just want that person to know what a Special, Caring, and Loving person they are, and that I Thank them very much for making my Christmas something Special again.

First "official" smiles came from a middle-of-the-night phone call (I'd not yet gone to sleep), and an early morning conversation, of course.
And now reading this thread.

First let me say, that in a very short time all of you have wormed your way into my heart ... I love knowing all of you ...
My first smile was when I woke up for the first time today and realised that the rain was falling and thought of all of you who were probably experiencing snow fall, and thought to myself, "Wow, we are in different parts of the world, experiencing different temperatures etc but we are alive on the same Christmas day and are joined by the cyber wonder that is MD" Kinda convoluted I know but it was a warm feeling to know that some stuff does supercede geography ...and that made me smile.

I don't know if I can put my finger on it, as I've been smiling an awful lot lately, but I think it had to do with something called "Stupid Human Tricks with Kielbasa" and a photo....
Those damn Poles always make me laugh..
