I get the most concerned about the profiles that say the person has not been online in 3 months!  They did not cancel their account. They are just GONE!

I have no idea how long I had an account on MD, I'd forggotten all about it until somebody actually sent me an email. He was way far away, but then I started looking around the site and found the forums.....for good or ill. Much as I love the friends I've made here, it's probably not been a good thing overall. I'm thinking about not letting myself sign on until I've gone for a walk after work....I spend all day in front of a computer, I need to get moving more (as I used to, before the addiction set in...)
By the way, Newfie just posted that he'll be visiting Arms for Valentine's Day. I asked him to say hi for all of us, and to check in here...maybe she's feeling the need to get out of the chair in front of the monitor too.

That's a very good question. Just how many have been snatched!?!??! 
I suppose someone could put a call into the MPB (Missing Posters Bureau), but I here they aren't open on Wed., due to budget cutbacks on MD.
