this is actually a very interesting thread. 
I dated a part Crow Indian boy back in the days and his grandmother would call me that. She said I was some sort of spirit protecting the ancient buffalo's. ??????
I don't remember everything she said, I thought she was kinda loopy. Little did I know that she was right on the money. She must have sensed that one day I would grow up to be a Veterinarian working at the zoo. That or she put two and two together cause I would always ask her what kind of "skin" she had hanging on her walls????

An Indian name.... I have one... actually two.... this nick of mine was given to me by someone of Cherokee decent.... so I am White Thunder which means Lightening I believe.... my other name is my shamanistic name which only I, a few people and the spirits know... this one was given to me by the spirits... it was called out to me by an unseen voice while I was in meditation. That one we not supposed to tell everyone what it is.

"Julia"..."Freedom Fur"...Very interesting...The Indian elders are VERY WISE people...I never doubt them or question them...
"WhiteThunder"...You are so right...There are many things that the spirits speak that is only for your knowledge...
As for my Indian name..."Flaring-Eagle"...I was given that name by a Cherokee Indian when I was just 10..."Grey-Wolf" was my grandma's uncle...He told me that my name means..."Flaring" there's a glow about me...that the spirits are always among me...& "Eagle"...I'm free spirited like the eagle...The eagle part is very true...I'm still trying to figure the flaring out
