I would have all my friends and any one that wants to help build a special mansion with cathedral ceilings of art with pillars along each room and beautiful speaker system for music and outside have waterfalls, birds with many beautiful flowers...and, ok, ok I dream'n.

i am assembling the best advisors that i can find. if and when i make a mistake i apologize. i made a mistake..it was my decision...i am very sorry....i will try to do better.
if something works out well, it is to the credit of all those who put forth effort to accomplish it. i thank them.
please continue to assist me for i am in a position that no one can fill. i am weak alone, but with you , we are strong, you are strong. You can overcome, if not for yourself, for your children. neither..i would live on AF-1 and move from city to city, country to country where ever my advisors see the greatest need for our presence to offer assistance and show that we genuinly care. would travel with minimal secuity and in the open as much as possible...invite all assasins/enemies to come to negotiate their grievence.

What would you have to say to the masses?
First ... taxation will be evenly paid by all ... no more privileges for the rich or religions to dodge taxes. Corporations and individuals who shelter money in offshore tax havens would be informed that they are no longer U.S. citizens ... and since they pay no taxes, they get no benefits. Their products would be subject to heavy tarrifs.
Second ... the voting system would be overhauled. We're getting rid of the electronic voting machines that are so easily hacked. Rigged elections like 2000 and 2004 will be a thing of the past. Candidates cannot spend money campaigning. Each will receive equal time and space in the press to deliver their platforms in presentations devoid of the hollywood factor.
Third ... oil companies will be thanked for the job they've done providing us with fossil fuel for our cars and homes ... and asked to clean up the mess they left behind in the environment. They will be replaced by solar, wind, hydrogen and other alternative energy that will not be owned by a cartel who would gouge the public for excessive profit. Every citizen will receive a huge government rebate for trading in their gas guzzler in exchange for the new mode of transport. Every city will receive help maintaining public transport systems ... taxis, buses, trains and subways.
Fourth ... I'd announce that the government is now officially out of the drug business ... we've arrested all the CIA and military officials who have used their government positions to traffic in drugs.
Fifth ... All religious references will be removed from all government property to abide with the separation of church and state intended by our forefathers. Religions would be allowed to practice freeley outside of government facilities with no bias toward one religion.
Sixth ... lawyers will be required to provide equal legal representation for all, regardless of income. Finally, justice will be truly available to all ... not just the ones who can afford the most expensive attorney. My ex-wife and her attorney will be jailed to pay for their crimes. 
Seventh ... ... oh hell ... I could go on and on ... but let's let take a break for a marguerita!

Oh ... and I almost forget ...
We're going through all the accounting records, to identify all the people who have been profiteering by overcharging the previous government and we're seizing their assets to repay for the theft. Companies like Halliburton, Brown and Root, etc. Jail time is being considered. An amnesty program is available for those who willingly surrender repayment.
Now ... back to that marguerita!

The government has been to big for too long. We are going to dissolve a majority of the Federal Government agencies and use Faith based organizations to provide these services instead. After all Faith based organizations do ten times more good with a fraction of the money that the Government spends and they provide equal or better services.

-The promise that God forbid anything bad were to happen (attack, disaster, etc), there will be large hordes of disaster relief right there, with the quickness, with food, with ice and with an actual plan.
-All CEOs who suck their employees' pensions dry as well as oil executives guilty of price-gouging get put in general population and not a Club Fed and then learn what being bought and sold 5 times over truly means. Cause, you know...if you ain't doin'. you ain't learnin'.
-Most importantly, a pig roast on every street corner of the free world every 1st of the month.

A compound. High atop something and I can declare myself king of all I see, and failing that get a whole stack of turtles to stand on so that I could see further. But like Thomas Jefferson did as President, there would be open house parties...lots and lots of open house parties.

Hmmmm... If I were leader of the free world:
I would say to the American people:
The legitimate function of government is to help us defend our life, liberty, and property, everything else has got to go. That's about 2/3 of the government we need to get rid of.
What I would do for the people:
I would end the war on drugs, and in fact get rid of all victimless crimes.
I would eliminate the IRS, thus ending the war on taxpayers.
I would bring the troops home. All of them, from everywhere.
I would gut the welfare state.
I would present a budget to congress that would be so small it would totally shock them. Their response would be a threat to shut down the government. My response would be "Kewl, do it".
It would take 2/3 of congress to pass anything, because they would have to override my veto of everything that comes across my desk. We don't need more laws, we need less laws.
And oh yeah... I would very likely be assassinated.
