The last time I "gave blood" was when I was the recipient of a cheap shot in a bar that broke my nose.......It was way more than a pint I would bet.

I did on a regular basis, but the last few times I passed out and it was actually a few hours before I could go back to work....I think it's time to pass on the torch.

band mom if their bruising you, ask for someone else lol, heaven, you said it was just the last few times that you passed out, before those donations did you eat anything and had you been keeping yourself well hydrated?
lj, Dude, I can almost guarantee unless you went and recieved blood, the blood loss you had wasnt near as bad as it looked. Blood has a tendency to spread out alot! lol

This wasnt the little trickle of blood that you see on tv........it was like someone turned the water faucet on high......my life fluid was POURING out of my face (which kept me from beating the living hell out of the chicken shit turd who chose to do it that way instead of facing me like a man)
Still pisses me off to think about it.

oh no dude I understand the kind of flow that your talking about, I'm just saying that when blood leaves the body it looks like there is a whole lot more there than there really is.

Bryan, I always get bruised. My AC veins suck even though I have sewer pipes everywhere else.
I always ask for their best "poker".

Perhaps you're right.....all I know is that it was all over the floor, all over me, all over my truck, all over my apt when I got home (no I didnt go to the hospital) and it took well over an hour to stop bleeding.......and Im not a heavy bleeder usually.

its because some of the larger veins in the body are in the nose and more pressure from the heart is going to the head then any other part of the body, so it takes more time for the nose to stop bleeding then any other part of the body unless of course an artery is hit then well thats a WHOLE other set of probs lol

It doesnt do any good for me to donate because the last time I tried they only got half a pint.I told them to just take another half pint out of the other arm but they said they couldnt do that. They said they could still use that half pint for lab work though.

I was a regular donor until I got high blood pressure. I'm taking meds for it but apparently I don't meet their criteria anymore to donate.

I donate through the local blood bank's "apherisis" program . . .it takes a little longer than donating whole blood . . .but they get more plasma and platelets from each donation. I am very close to my coveted "10 Gallon Donor" pin . . .I and get lots of reading done while donating.
