I wonder if it ever occured to the clean police that people heading out to a bar might not be trying to do something healthy for themselves.
On the rare chance I get to go down one. I sometimes run into a non-smoker.
They usually bum ciggaretts

The more they ban smoking, the more I frown at how much control the government has over what we can and cannot do.
If you want to smoke and get lung cancer...go ahead. Chances are no one's forcing you to smoke and it's your choice.
Smoking in bars is different though, as there are people around who don't want to smell the smoke and don't want to be around it.

Government powers over the individual continue to expand, with Healthcare soon to fall into the governments hands, they will soon be pushing for salt intake limits, limits of fried foods etc...

So there is a market for the smoke free club
why isn't that the deciding factor in where people go to hang out or work.
not something the gov't needs to waste time on.

Funny thing, RAKS, I'd already mentally started to develop a marking plan for a chain of smoking bars called "Den of Iniquity, Inc" (or to be rather macabre, Den of Iniquity, Etc...D.I.E. )
But oh, YES! Mandatory AIDS testing -- Copyright! Dibs! Mine-mine-mine...You heard it here first:
"Secondhand Spunk KILLS!"
And it really IS amazing how many DOZENS of those rightious non-smokers continually BUM our cigarettes during an evening at a bar, outside restaurants and outside every damn airport and taxi stand . (Maybe I should learn to "Just Say No! ", even if that wasn't the intent of that slogan)

Frankly I don't see why there can't be both "smoking bars" and "non smoking bars"... ok, so I like to have choices.... I understand the non-smokers, being concerned about 2nd hand smoke and health issues. Although they do tend to be self-rightous about it which is irritating, but I want to be able to smoke when I go out to dance & drink the night away, without freezing my butt off during the winter.

Exactly! And owner AND a patron should be allowed a CHOICE.
Heck, they're allowed to have JUICE bars for non-alcohol drinkers.

I'd say that they have a CHOICE to work in a smoke filled casino...or get another job. It's the same choice smokers were given when businesses said quit or keep out.
Besides, just think about how much money you save by being chased out by the stinkin' smoke

Personally, I think that all non-smokers should be banned from any decent bar.

I am a non smoker and dont care or mind if people choose to smoke. The majority of folks here are non smokers.
Let people smoke if they want ,,, as long as I dont have to inhale and smoke their smoke.
I would like smoking and non smoking places so we can all be happy but here all public places are non smoking including bars
Sunbabe I promise I will never bum your ciggies

This is a point of contention with me. Why can't there be smoking and non-smoking bars/restaurants? If a bar is smoking, people know the risk upon entering. They have a choice. I guess society has to have someone/something to hate. The hospital here is a smoke-free campus. Huh??? What danger is someone posing by smoking in their own car or out in the parking lot?

Other businesses have pretty much made their employees look like a bunch of streetwalkers downtown here-they're all standing outside the place of business with their smokes.
I am for smoking/nonsmoking bars and restaurants.
