Why don't more people post?

It seems to me that there aren't as many people utilizing the message board as one would expect. It looks like it's around the same people usually posting answers. Am I wrong? I would think more people would use it to interact with others. It seems like a great tool to get to know people.
Just my opinion for what it's worth.

I agree with you! I hope more members will start using the forums too. I think if threads stay on topic and the flaming/trolling/bashing is kept to a minimum there will be plenty of new members posting here.
We just have to continue to create a friendly environment that wold help encourage new people to make posts...

I agree with you on that one summer. I think alot of people like to read the forums, but are just too shy to join in. I mean, what if I say something stupid? 
I love the forums and will spread my NTBHO around for all to enjoy.

I just started posting a couple of weeks ago and am thoroughly hooked. Especially the debate type topics, as long as they stay civilized (ENFJ's just HATE confrontation and ill feelings...but that's another thread).

For some reason I've noticed that there are always tons of people who never get brave enough to post but will read. I agree with you, though. If we just keep it friendly, eventually a lot of them will venture in.
In my opinion the boards are the BEST way to meet people. You can really get to know someone, if they post a lot. I have met a lot of very nice people after spending time with them on boards. :)

I'm pretty sure that's why the Mods have been so active enforcing the threads to stay on topic and stopping the flaming/trolling types of posts. Especially the topics that were deliberately started to incite heated debate. No one will want to post if they think they are going to get attacked over it.
For the most part though, discussions on the forums are really good I think...

... I guess the forums are still kind of new... I did invite several people who have send me letters, to come over here. For some reason, they thought it was for paying members only. Please come and join us. We love to have you here, we dont bite.

I would be inclined to agree with summersuall as far as creating a friendly environment.
People love a good debate..but there are some who if they do not agree with what is posted,start personal attacks on the poster in bad taste.
We should all have the ability to agree to disagree without verbal assaults on someones character.

Well, I also agree with you. Also I didn't realize the message board was as new as it is. It's nice to see matchdoctor taking the time to make sure it is used as it was meant to be. As time goes on it will be great to see more people utilize it. I look forward to that.

Are you sick of all the regular people that ya want new people to start posting? lol (joking of course!)
I think its a process that takes time, and then there are some people who just dont want to share there life with others because they dont want just anyone reading it, forums are not for everyone, but then there are others who enjoy them. Its nice to see atleast some people are posting though!

#1 Basically lack of time if their motivation is to wait for Email or Winks from Potentials
#2 Posting the 1st time is pretty Scary  - you don't know who's making fun of you out there in the Virtual Online World
#3 Fear of revealing their Inner Self which may not MATCH their Brag Sheet of a Profile, or to get close to other people to become friends

I would love to see more people post in the forums. Personally....I say stupid stuff all the time and every one laughs with me...not AT me. (or at least I THINK they're laughing with me )

I think it takes a while for some to feel comfortable posting.. forums can be intimidating to some.
It has taken a while for me to post more.. am thinking not a lot get my style of humor or sarcastic wit

When I first come to this site, I posted some...then I saw all the bashing and arguments that seemed to be ever so present in some of the threads. I'd say that's also why more people don't post. That sort of thing just goes against my nature I suppose. People being picked on and ridiculed for being different or speaking their opinions. I sort of drifted away from the forums. Just during this last week have I even looked in here. Guess I always felt people should treat everyone with respect, no matter who they are or what beliefs they have. I really enjoy reading what others think on different topics. It gives me different ways of seeing things, and allows me to momentarily put myself in their shoes and feel how they might feel.
