I just heard this story on the radio, and it made me think, What would I do?
A man's dog was killed, intentionally, by two teenage children. He called the Sheriff and had them arrested. They went to court, got a fine and probation. Then the teens laughed at the man and said they'd do it again. Later that night, the man took a rifle and two handguns and went to the the teen's house and murdered the entire family, both teen boys, the mother, her boyfriend, and the boyfriend's daughter. Then called the Sheriff and turned himself in. His statement was that the dog was the only friend he had in the world, and the only thing he loved, and that those people took it from him, so they deserved to die and he didn't care if he went to prison or not, since without his dog life was over anyway.
I'm an animal lover, and I like my cat better than most people, but I don't know if I could kill an entire family for him. What do you think? What would you have done?

As much as I love my critters, thats just over the top. I would be furious and hurt, but killing someone? No. Shoot out their windows maybe.

Personally I think he was pushed over the edge by the attitude of the boys. As weird as it seems this is a crime of passion. It just that it is over a dog. I agree he went too far but one does not know what he was going through, and no one realized he was loosing it. But I agree with luv, take out a few windows, slash some tires, and make it cost them big...

I would WANT to kill them. No one should mess with my children! But kill someone, hurt someone, no, not in that manner. I know how to put some nails in a board and hide it in their driveway, or other such subversive means of retaliation.

Kill .... no .... but there are animal rights groups that, from what I've heard, can get involved and really push the issues.... personally, I wouldn't resort to killing, but I would find a way to make their lives suck for awhile.

Kill no...but those kids sounded like serial killers in the making. They had no remorse. Almost to a man (there are very few serial killers who are women), serial killers engage in 3 behaviors as children and teens before graduating to murder -- bedwetting, animal abuse and starting fires.

I would never kill anyone but the patriarch of the family may get his ass kicked and I'd make sure those nasty bottom feeding teenagers were in jail.

I'd like to know a little more (as always) before I rush to judgment. Why did they hate him that much? Were they really evil incarnate or was something else going on there? Serial killers ARE usually animal torturers to start with, but rarely in groups.
That said though, I'd probably have a lot more sympathy for him than for them. To me, people who hurt innocents - anmals or children or those without the capacity to form clear judgments for themselves, or the ability to defend themselves - are the worst scum on earth and we're all better off without them.

Well, does tying them down on an ant hill with honey on their balls.....and leaving them to their own demise, count as killing.......................I mean , maybe the ants will eat the ropes holding them down...right? How about cement shoes, waist deep waiting for high tide........How about cement shoes in wolf country, with some hamburg in their shorts.........then the dogs would get their just deserts........

Nobody would really object if animal control shot a rabid wolf. Why should we object if someone shoots the human equivalent?

I can't find anything in the news anywhere about this, so I'm going to assume its an urban legend. Unless of course someone proves me wrong. One would think it would have made the news, it is quite sensational and should sell ads.

I guess that was a bit out of line, but it just sickens me when people, however unintentionally, decree that human life is more valuable than any other life. It is exactly that attitude which has enabled our species to transform vast areas of our world into barren, toxic wastelands. I sincerely believe that we would all benefit if we all, regardless of our faith or creed, displayed more reverence towards the other species (including plants) that share our world.

when my big sis died, my twin sis and I got custody of her cat Sybil.. we absolutely adored that cat.. it was a connection to Cheryl that we didn't want to lose. The neighbors had dogs that roamed freely.. one evening they came up on our deck and killed Sybil... Sis blasted that dog to kingdom come, dragged it to their yard and told them if the other dog was not penned up or relocated, she would make a rug out of it too. This was not the first time they had been warned about their dogs running loose. No one else in the neighborhood let their dogs run.. (except for my uncle and his aussies).. Alot of people were losing pets because of those monster dogs.. cats, chickens, rabbits.. I really think I could hurt someone if they messed with my "kids".. probably not kill, but they would know they messed with the wrong little injun...
the neighbors relocated their remaining dog, and put their house up for sale...

My babies (dogs) have no clue they are dogs...If someone was to hurt or kill them ...I would do some serious a$$ kicking...They would never forget what they had done...They would for sure pay big time...But to kill them...Nope...There are other ways to make them suffer for what they did...
"touch"...Where did this happen & when

if someone hurt or killed my dog in front of me, I would probably hurt them, or kill them in a fit of rage,.....
but to coldly plan out something like that... no...

"touch"...Where did this happen & when I caught it on that "AM America" radio show this morning, I missed the first few seconds of the story cause I wasn't paying much attention, but I think it was Missouri or Mississippi. They named the guy who did the killing in the story, but I couldn't remember his name when I posted it.
