I thought that this was a place where everyone could present their opinions without being mobbed by the masses. Someone gives their honest and truthful opinions on threads here and they seem to get jumped on by the MOB. Even if we post on a thread and we speak of individuals or their personalitys , the MOB SQUAD runs to the defense. I'm sure people here can defend themselves without the MOB coming to the rescue. JMHO. So... bring it on MOB.

Even if we post on a thread and we speak of individuals or their personalitys Ah, see the thing is, to personally use another persons name is kinda a no, no. Since the boards came back, this has been an unwritten rule. Although, if you read the rules of MD I think you will see this too.

Well, technically speaking, no names were used, but since we all knew who was being discussed, it was pretty much the same thing.
The boards are supposed to be for general discussion, not for airing private laundry publicly...again, just an unwritten rule, but I think it would generally be considered good manners. I think our problem is less with anyone's perception of a situation than with their bringing everyone into that situation. Even where location's workable, personalities mesh and there's a physical attraction, anything beyond casual dating will require common goals. Just because someone's on a different path doesn't make them selfish and egotistical, any more than someone else wanting something else makes THEM selfish and egotistical. Nobody would diss you for not wanting to support someone's career in preference to your own goals; we just question why you feel the need to do it to someone else.

Was this thread initiated because of any other specific thread, or is this just what happens in general in the forums?

Even if we post on a thread and we speak of individuals or their personalitys , the MOB SQUAD runs to the defense. I'm sure people here can defend themselves without the MOB coming to the rescue. JMHO. So... bring it on MOB. I see you used "we". Assuming that you're not in that MOB squad (just curious, is it an abbreviation of sorts?) that you speak of, "we" is...? Geek squad? How do we know who's in which squad? Are there different colors jerseys? Can we choose? (I am very particular about what I wear)
So I'd like to ask... What was the reason of this thread? You do know that you can't post a thread about a specific person?

Initiated for various reasons. Mostly because the somewhat selfproclaimed popular people here always feel they need to come to the rescue of their little buddies.

Now about those jerseys...

Enjoying... Just an observation...
The mob squad, as you call it, only comes into the defense of others when someone is truly wrong in their treatment of someone else..
As to the problem that is readily apparent:
The simple fact is, if someone isn't interested in a future with you, you can't harass them into changing their mind... It doesn't make someone a "bad person" if they decide that they do not wish to share their future with you.. They are neither selfish, self absorbed, or full of themselves... That is their choice, and we must respect that choice, even if it hurts for a time.
This kind of reminds me of those Pepe Le Pew cartoons I loved so much as a kid... The more he chased, the faster she ran...
I wish you only the best...

Hmmm....there is an "in" crowd called the MOB?
There is a big people's table?
Not sure Enjoying.....
I guess maybe you should look at it this way..... These folks have known each-other for quiet some time. They have all met, and are friends. And if they indeed stand up for one another, well....that's just what friends do.
I don't find them "taking" over threads or shooing folks out the door. Perhaps as with any new friend, it just takes time to earn trust and start friendships.
Attacking them is not the way.......
All this however should not keep you from enjoying the forums and making "other" friends.
As to your problem.....it's no different than real life....crap happens....there is always someone next in line.

Opti's gone? He feels he is not welcome here anymore. I told him not to feel that way, but when someone embarrasses you to the point he has been embarrassed, I can understand. I thought I could talk him into staying because so many people see him differently then one person does. Once again, I was wrong. I for one will miss him, and hope that he will come back.

Luvs, looks like we need to send out a the best huh? Hm, do we still have the Green Berets???
He better come back, because,,,,he is one of the "good guys". We do need them too.
Irish Blessing May God be with you and bless you. May you see your children's children. May you be poor in misfortunes and rich in blessings. May you know nothing but happiness from this day forward . An Old Irish Blessing May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
