for all the prayers for my grandma Daisy Lee.. She came home from the hospital Thursday evening. She is here with my mom and papa b for a few days while all the handicap alterations are finished on her house. She is so tickled to be getting a brand new bathroom. The people from physical therapy come every day to work with her. She is really enjoying being down here with mom for a few days. She will need a sitter when she gets back to her house. Mom fixes Daisy whatever she wants to eat (and her appetite is very good) and she is right now sitting in front of the boob tube watching the Bush race with Papa B. At 93 years old, she still has the brain power to sit and do word search puzzles and loves Wheel of Fortune.. Mom and granny have never really had a close relationship and I think this is going to be good for the both of them. Gran said to thank all of you that added her to your prayer lists.. and I thank you too.. My granny looks the best I have seen her years.. Blessings...

mom and I will take turns during the week and Betsy will get the weekends, but Betsy is anorexic and I don't know if she has the strength to get gramma out of the wheelchair.. both of moms brothers backed out on helping out tho.. figures.. I can understand Uncle Kerm not having a lot of time.. he still works and he lives an hour away.. but my uncle John and his wife are retired.. My cousin Carrie will help out for a few hours a week .. she lives right next door to gramma.. but I don't know if she has the stomach for it if gramma has to have help to potty.. it would be nice if she would bring a couple of meals by for gramma..
I am just so glad that she is home...

Glad to hear she's going to be heading home to her own house. She'll show those aunts and uncles of yours who is still in charge!

Gramma has finally realized what a bossy B**ch Betsy is.. lol.. it only took her 45 years to figure it out... Gramma told Betsy to leave her checkbook with mom and Betsy had a freaking fit.. told mom that she had to do some totaling in it.. lol.. Gramma told Bets not to worry about totaling it up.. she had plenty of money.. (thats what gramma thinks... Bets and her hubby have been syphoning off of it for years now).. Gramma is in for a surprise...

You know, if this is a serious "issue", you or your mom can get "custody", so to speak.
And if you're not on record as a 'blood relative'/family member, I'll bet that Medicare/Medicaid or one of those state programs might pay you to care for her...check into what coverage is available (the hospital advocates usually have a lot of this info)
I'm SO glad to hear MizDaisy,Sr. is doing so well, though

Gramma Daisy will be moving back to her house tomorrow. All the renovations to accomodate her walker and a brand spanking new bathroom are finished ! She has had physical therapy while at moms and is doing fantastic.. She even went to the bathroom by herself last night.. mom has been sleeping on the sofa so she could here Daisy Lee at night and Gramma didn't wake mom up.. mom was kinda perturbed that Gramma didn't ring her little bell, but Gram was tickled to death to get there on her own. To celebrate Grams recovery mom went out last night and bought 2 lbs of jumbo shrimp and boiled it up and they pigged out on shrimp and garlic bread.. I think my papa B is gonna miss having Gramma there.. someone new to tell his stories to... Gramma is scheduled for 3 more weeks of PT, but the therapist said she probably won't need that many weeks.. she is doing so good !.. They have her on vicodin for pain and besides helping with the pain from the broken leg, it has done wonders for her poor locked up knees.. the first time Gram has ever had pain pills .. and actually took them. She said thank you for all the wonderful prayers.. and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.. I don't think the outcome would have been this positive if had not been for all my "family" here..
