This lie was told to me when I was in about 1st grade, and I believed it for several years. One of my friend's older brothers was telling us about where babies come from. It went something like this:
Your daddy sticks his weiner in your mom and wiggles it around till some snot comes out. The snot gets your mom infected and in a few weeks a baby pops out. But sometimes your dad sticks his weiner up your mom's butt instead of in the front, and when the snot comes out her butt gets infected and colored babies come out.
So, I went for years thinking that black people were butt babies. I think I finally figured it out when I was about 12 or so.

Sick and wrong...but funny! Gosh to think Touch has been "touched" all these years.
One of my earliest memories. My sister who is 6 years older than me, told me my uncles cow found me on a rock when I was a baby. Mom felt sorry for me and adopted me. I thought I was adopted until I was old enough to read my birth certificate.
(my uncle didn't even have a cow!)

This one isn't really outrageous but like blu and lj speaks to my faith in social institutions.
I used to believe you could not have children unless you were an adult and married. (Until I was about 15!)

That people were honest and friendly and fair. I think I was about thirty when I gave up believing it. Just couldn't convince myself anymore that everyone is 'good'.
I still look for the best in everyone though. I guess I'm a diehard.

Biggest lie I was ever told, and ever believed was, "If you work hard, earn your keep, and keep your nose clean, everything will be fine."
LOL, yeah right, seems like the scammers are the ones who really get it all. Oh well, at least my conscience is clean.

Too funny the way our lives parallel.....my mom told me about a year ago that the man I consider to be my natural father is quite likely NOT. Now what does someone like me do with THAT info?
I praised God.

When I was young I actually believed in the moon landing. I became an engineer in a similar field and talked to people that worked in those programs that don't even believe their own product landed on the moon. They saw moon landing stage sets just like what we were supposed to be seeing on tv at the exact same time these so called moon landers were executing their mission.
