Why don't men read the profiles ?

I often receive some letters in which men write: " I like your prfile", " your profile is nice" " I would like to know Italy and Italians..." " I hope to receive your e mail again" .....etc etc ....
After an exchange of 2 or 3 letter their silence falls off.
Maybe I could be boring .....for me first letters are as first dates...
What have I to say ?
"See you tomorrow " ?
It's a little bit difficult when there is an ocean to cross and 12 hours of flight...... 
My talk are general talk .....
Perhaps I'm wrong but I have the sensation that this happens also among Americans who have not an ocean to cross
Men don't read profile very well or are not so interested even if their words sound as an assurance..... 
MD is a good way to meet new people and why not the right person.....why don't we take time to know someone new ?

I've come across this many times.
The last email said...".you sound like a funny person"
I don't think there is much humor in a mother losing her 13 y/o son, and stating that she is only here for the forums. if he'd read my profile, he would have just skipped the email he'd sent me.....but don't forget...women are the same way...some don't read profiles either. It's not all the men.

Ponie, it's quite possible he's looking beyond the devastation and heartbreak you've recently experienced. If one goes back a ways before that time, and tries to get a picture of the real you, prior to recent grief, they could pull out that the fundamental you has a fun sense of humor, I think.
What can one really say about something like that situation to make it better? So they probably wouldn't address it. At least not early on.

Howdy from Texas,
Don't place all your eggs in one basket. Not all men are like those that have posted to you. I myself am trying to engage with a woman in China and it's difficult to say the least. While I don't know the men you are making reference to I would guess that some, if not most of them, are looking for a woman wanting to be a wild sex partner.
The old,"Love em and leave em" thing. Maybe they don't know that a path to a womans love is through more than sex? I try to keep any woman I talk to within a 10 year limit of my age and at my age sex isn't the main thing I'm looking for. Oh, I can hear the come backs on that but it doesn't bother me. Anyway, I won't read your profile...just wanted to place a few words in for the men that can be men and appreciate a woman as a woman. Take care.
