i was talking to a chat bud who is signing up for a forum when she announces she's lying about her age. generally, i'm a live and let live sorta woman, but that really had me puzzled. she's not that fond of herself; to top it all, she's going to lie about her age cos she doesn't "feel" 47. ultimately, i remarked it was her profile, and she could do as she liked.
ok. i'm 46, and it doesn't feel very different from 45 (helluva lot better than 25). i've tried to pass for 55 to get the senior citizen breaks, but no one's going for it.  when i was younger, i used to lie about being older -- not to buy booze or cigs. i just thought it'd b great to b older. i know there r a lot of younger people online, but i'm not losing one year over that. i may be someone's grandmother's age, but she isn't half as cute or witty as i am.  
i think my bud's in for some chit. if she meets someone, i wonder how soon she'd tell him the truth about her age. then, would he wonder what else she's concealing? turn in tomorrow; same ol' time; same ol' chat.

why ty, spongebob. i definitely get plenty of rest (cos i love to  ), and i dont do excesses. as for men, some use hair spray, get plastic surgery, so why wouldn't they start lying about their age? hmm. anyway, it seems that ur not proud of urself if u lie about something like that. maybe it's just me.

she didn't say. i dont know if she "looks" her age or not. cos some people r the worse 4 wear n they look older than i am when in fact they're younger. i hate to c her sell herself short; alas, i can't save her from herself.

Wait 'til she hits 50! OMG, she will lie about being in the 40's range. So sorry she unhappy with father time, but for sure one needs to enjoy life and be fullfilled for the sun rises and sets so quickly.

Never have and never understood it either. But I have to admit that I really enjoy it when people are sincerely disbelieving when they hear it  .
Even at 62 (61, but my b'day's 12/16), there's no way I'd want to go back to 30, which was probably the worst year of my life, at least so far. Now, would I lie about being older if I could qualify for a trip on a space shuttle, or something equally outrageous? In a heartbeat!

I NEVER lie about my age!!! Especially when someone guesses that I'm 6-10 years younger!!!! At 45, I'm mighty proud of that!!!
Heck, at this point, I'm not even worried about the gray hairs......I'm just thankful that after raising three boys to have not pulled all my hair out!!!!!  Plus, it does help to have lighter hair to start with.
then, would he wonder what else she's concealing?
I'm thinking not would he wonder, but who could blame him when he does question anything she says!!! I feel that if someone is going to be deceitful about something as minor as their age, then they are more apt to be hiding things that are really important!

When I was younger, I lied about my age often. Started my first business at age 18. I found being a woman, and dealing with mostly men at the time, I was often not taken seriously when the age factor was thrown in. On a personal level I would never lie about my age. I celebrate every year older as another year survived and a little added wisdom. Most woman improve with age anyway, we're like fine wines!

really, who is to say if we look younger or older? i meet up with high school pals who look like they've been dragged behind a vehicle for the past 20 years. maybe u and i don't really look our ages cos most everyone else looks the worse for wear.
p.s. and let's not EVEN start talking bout those ppl n front of a camera (media, hollywood types, etc).

I used to *hang out* in a local chat room ... Cleveland area ... just after the divorce. Seemed most chatters were quite a bit younger than I... I shaved 5 years off ... & even then most didn't believe I was the age I claimed to be!! LMAO!
Yeah, went through that fun (@ the time) period of *dating* the younger men ... the term *men* is used losely here ...
Maybe I was in need of some positive reinforcement...Didn't last long. I'm all better now & proud to claim my true age. And hey! I'd MUCH rather be seen as looking good @ my age than .."WOW!!! She's only in her mid 40's?? Sure looks older than that!"

I dated a guy who almost two months, I thought he was 30, he told me he was. Out of no where, he tells me he is 24. I was pissed. Age is such a stupid thing to lie about.
