Im a daddys girl- by far- and for this VERY reason
tonight i baked a cake from scratch for my mother and sister. but then my mom came and told me they were going to bed
so i said alright and that they could have some tomorrow that i would leave it out.
then just as im done she comes down and asks for some cake, i say "SURE!" and hand her some, then she takes another plate and another peice... takeing two peices back upstairs, i think nothing of it and finish frosting then cake.
then i thought- oh! maybe daddys up! i'll go see how he likes the cake! so i go up stairs and my dad is sleeping. im like "wheres mom?" then i hear something from my sisters room and so i knock- then try to open the door- its locked. I'm like "is mom in there?" then i here scrammbling around and giggling and shh's . So i get the key from above her door and open it.
My mom and sister are sitting on her bed trying to hide all these snacks and stuff and theyre watching a movie they rented.
i was like "youre having a girls night and you didnt invite me?" my sister goes "well yea." i was like "why?" my mom goes "you laugh too loud" and my sister goes "and you need to loose weight, so we didnt think sitting around and eating doritos would be the best thing for you" i was just like "...ok." and left.
it really hit me when i starting walking downstairs how mean that was.
my mom and me are like the best of friends- when my little sister isnt around..
i baked a cake and was trying so hard to spend time with them tonight and then they lie to me about going to bed and then insult me ontop of it all.
talk about a downer.

Oh my god..hun...
I totally know the feeling.
Except I'm the one who takes care of my sister, so when my mother takes my sister out and leaves me home it feels like a complete slap in the face.
My family is kind of the same way with the food. Sometimes I ask them to be, because I am trying very hard to lose weight, but sometimes they're underhanded and will hide food...my parents will tell my sister where it is, and not me. And that hurts.

Sara, I've seen your pics, don't you loose a pound. and then I would let your mom and sis know exactly how it made you feel. not wanting to hang out is one thing, being mean about it is something completely diferent

sorry to hear that hun but i'll tell you what? you'll have to get used to favoritism in a household with more than one child. I speak from experience. I'm the youngest of five...yours is better cos its just the two of you and they made clear their reasons for acting like that...some don't and that keeps you wondering( another burden). I totally understand and sympathise with what you went( are going) through..yanno..girls and stuff...but like I said, you gotta get accustomed to this nuissance, unfair treatment around the house if you really want to be a part of the girls' night or whatever, it's up to you to make them love or pretend to love you... either by controlling the way you laugh or loosing some weight if you want/have to. yes I used the word pretend cos you can't persuade someone to truelly love you.
PS; At least someone in the family loves you..your dad...so chin up girl! good luck!

Sara, I live by myself out in the boonies, and even though I have friends/neighbors over all the time, I spend way to much time alone, please disregard those comments the best you can, you have a loving family around you, and years from now, after your parents are gone, ( and your brother/sisters have moved away w/ their own familys ) this tiny moment in your life will not be remembered. Cherish everyday you are all together, because one day will come when nothing will ever be the same.......again. I have a cookies brownies, and cakes to bake, and the reason I don't, is because it's not any fun to bake yourself a cake, and eat it by yourself. But you can bring a cake up with you for the gathering.
