Ghost Hunting at the Brookdale Lodge

I decided to celebrate my return to feeling good again (recovered from a horrid shingles attack that floored me to close to six months) by joining some friends to do a paranormal investigation at the Brookdale Lodge. Did it in late April and have made some significant investments in gear and am learning how to run investigations as a result of this first investigation.

Interesting experience and I picked up one good picture and a strange experience chasing a moving EMF field with my emf meter for about five minutes in a very *heavy* feeling room in the upper level of the Brookdale... Very spooky place and something I'm going to do more of in the future.

Has anyone else ever done this kind of work or do you have a good ghost story to tell everyone?

Jon

Yes!

I love ghosts hunts. I've been on 2 and they were both at my sister's former house. I say former since they moved because of the activity there.

You can read a portion of it here Oklahoma City Ghost Club. Mine is the Nicoma Park Invesigation.

I was disappointed that the group I was with didn't follow through on the EVT's even though they said there were some recorded.

Do you have info on your investigation online? I'd love to see it.

Hi Bandt,

Yes - see this article on my blog...

Check the link in the article with pictures from the investigation - Here is the 5 megapixel image of the one photo I thought was unusual - Check the strange images near the table and also to the far left you might see a strange outline that might look like a person in outline against a framed door area... Not claiming these to be evidence per se', but it was a strange picture.

I'm getting set in June to go to Bisbee, Arizona to do an investigation with my 4-channel DVR in the Copper Queen hotel - Want to record a room where a woman named "Julia" is reputed to pull the covers off the bed that men are sleeping in - she was a lady of the night and evidently likes to treat her "customers" to a little night-paranomal show - LOL... Still looking for one or two team members to join me on this trip...

Interesting investigation - love their investigative report format - I'm bookmarking this to use for my site investigative post-analysis and published reports - very polished and professional. Are you planning on joining them for any other investigations?

Those were awesome!

Have you actually "seen" or "heard" things, personally?

The house I was in, we all heard a radio playing, kids playing outside, and several of us heard it/them in our heads. We saw flickering lightsand red glows, felt touches, and a lamp and a DVD player turned on by itself.

We never could get an array to go off.

I actually asked to join their group, but was kinda brushed off. They are friends who have been together a long time and I guess they did't want any outsiders.

It was pretty cool to see, hear, and feel the things I was and have it verified.

LOL - My family are all psychics as well as I. I'm the scientist in the family and yet I trust my intuition and gut quite a lot as well as to do psychometry on occasion. As for my seeing things, yes, I'm pretty seasoned to the paranormal and don't consider it to be "super" natural, but just natural. I decided to get into the investigative aspect since it bothers me that Science is so damned close-minded about these things and also to widen my experience and handling of this topic just because I'm that interested.

As for your "brushed off" comment - I'm getting the same thing with groups I've expressed an interest in. I'd find another group or consider starting your own. I'm starting my own group and plan on being a little more open and tolerant of inquiries and interest... I've already purchased a 4-channel DVR, cameras, infrared gear and digital thermometers and EMF gear...

I did some reading on the T.A.P.S. (the atlantic paranormal society) website, they have groups of affiliates all over, but none in my area... but it is an intriguing investigation group

I have been spending quite a bit of time researching various groups and finding what I like and what I don't throughout the universe of available data and people I've experienced on this subject. I like TAPS best because of their stance on evidence and plan to keep my group very focused on the science. My big thing will be to toss out orb photos and also NOT to post EVPs with "read-in" wording - Most of the groups I see posting EVPs tend to post stuff that is interpreted and unclear. If the EVP is not clear, then it should be stated as such and not to add a guess at what the spirit or entity said... I'd take that as evidence over and above a ten second clip that I then play over and over again wondering where the sentence is that is supposed to have been said...

I've got a question for you ghost hunters. Can ghosts see each other? Do they interact with each other?

Boo! Did I scare ya? hehe...I always loved Casper! Great Comic Books.

As far as Ghosts.....um....not sure, never seen one....well....there was this one time...but I was pretty hoped up.....darn Grass.....

I think it's all in the mind. There will always be some electrical field, light play and magnetic force to investigate....it's nothing more than the earth releasing energy.....a cloud can easily turn into a picture in your mind....a bit of smoke, fog...turns into anything you want...in your head!

I have always been interested in going on a "ghost" hunt or an investigation...however I saw someone once as a child and not really sure that my psych could handle it again...at that age (4) it terrified me because the person I saw was a relative who had passed a few months prior and at that age could not understand when he was supposed to be dead.

Ghost story.

This Halloween we went to pick up my nieces and nephew to go Trick or Treating. A ghot got in the car with them. I could smell it. Whew...smelled like cheap hair spray. I was about to get one of the kids for pulling my hair, but when I turned around, none of them was close enough to me to have done it!

True story...this was a spirit that had latched on to my sis's family.

I believe they can. I've heard multiple references over the years to indicate that they do interact and even work together to get us to notice them...
