My trainer says the reason I am not burning fat better is because when I don't eat, my body thinks I am in a famine and stores fat. Exactly, Spirit. Would you please tell that to Sunny?…lol
Worked out at the gym, and actually broke my records for both lat pulldowns and chest presses.
Happy Feet!!! Congrats, Heaven. I didn’t get a chance to do the weights tonight, but did burn 610 calories on the exercise bike. Right now trying to hydrate again…lol. I’ll do the weights tomorrow. See, you don’t have to beat yourself up for missing something in your schedule and believing the day was a failure, as long as you get it in next time.
Btw, Heaven, I WISH I just had “one” food weakness….lol.
I’d definitely stay away from all those fad, miracle diets, Princess. All anyone needs is to educate oneself about basic dietary needs and find exercises that include strength training and aerobics that “you” like doing. It’s no use pushing an exercise you love on somebody that doesn’t. They have to find their own way.

Went to see my surgeon today (the one who did both of my hip surgeries). He was NOT happy that I have gained weight. That makes a problem with my knees and feet. I have 2-3 years to lose wt before I go see him again. I can't believe I don't have to go back for that long. I 've been seeing him every 6 months for the past 7 years! Guess I'm finally on the road to recovery. Now if I can just lose that blasted weight!

(totally non-PC, but "Body-by-Biafra" here )
And wouldn't ya know it, but I've eaten more in the last few weeks by actually trying to force calories in (to help my mouth heal) -- and I LOST two friggin' pounds!
Yep, that's why I jumped into this thread: I probably needed support for my weight loss.
(do you know that Jello chocolate pudding cups have about the same -- or fewer -- calories as a container of Yoplait yogurt? )

OK, you force yourself to eat more and still LOSE two pounds? I need to hurt people like you....lol. I just look at food and subconsciously gain two pounds.
We need to switch our metabolisms, Sunny.
Hang in there, Sign. That's what we're here for, support.

I just look at food and subconsciously gain two pounds. GMTA - I've been saying that for years..also that diners are the most dangerous places on earth, with those cases full of puff pastry, cream-filled swans, eclairs, napoleons...OMG, I think I just put on a few pounds just thinking about it...
I was bad last night....I'm not gonna say what I had, but I really shouldn't have done it. Better get back on that horse today!

LGQ, the only thing that has worked for me in putting the chocolate down, is instead of chewing it, I let it melt in my mouth, and I don't seem to want as much then. As for energy to go for a walk... someone else is going to have to help you with that one. I can use the help too!
Thank you so much for starting this thread!
Princess, those are GREAT sites, thanks for sharing.
Mo, I am like you, ALL food is a temptation.
I made it to the store last night, forgot the doggone cabbage and onions, the 2 MAIN ingredients in the soup! I am going to go ahead and eat what I am supposed to all day without it though. Had a 1/2 cup of green and black grapes for breadfast, along with my coffee. (like Spirit, I am NOT telling what I add to it)
I go back to work today, so that will get me moving again, hopefully, I will feel like taking a walk when I get off.

I'm with ya, Luvs. Food is my one giant weakness, period. It's a neverending struggle. If I didn't work out I'd be 400 pds, easy....lol.
LGQ, you could always eat chocolate "while" you're walking? Then gradually wean yourself off the chocolate? Hey, it's a start?
Heaven, you list pastries like that again and I'll hafta come over there and hit you with a carrot....knock it off, k!
Stay Strong and Keep the Faith, Everybody Mo

can't seem to put the chocolate down, and dont' have the energy to go for a walk Lay on your back and fake a bicycle while eating the chocolate or the 'fattening' food. If you are doing SOMETHING to burn calories it is not so bad. I want all of you to know that guilt plays an important role in weight gain or lack of weight loss. If you feel guilty, you will gain weight and if you feel guilty, you will eat/binge more. DON"T feel guilty. I work spiritually with people all the time on weight loss. My problem is I don't really want to lose weight. I want to tone. I actually gained weight to get bigger boobies... Now, I do NOT want to lose. I want to fat burn in spots. I want to lift the boobs more by toning the muscles. My trainer agrees it can be done. I have read books saying it can't be done. (I love my trainer!) Did you know that your belief system will make or break you? If you have someone that you trust tell you that you can do it, then you can. Plain and simple. So pick people that will support you mentally and emotionally and you will be blessed in all areas of your life.
Oh, and Sunny, you rock, lady! I know people like that metabolism wise. My ex for one. He would gorge himself and not gain. And ate sweets all the time.

Yep, believe it or not, you do have to eat to loose weight properly.

Luv I got a great dvd called "Walk Aerobics" for ppl 50+. It has 4 basic steps and you can do it at home. I think you can find it at www.currentwellness.com . It lasts for 33 min and that's equal to a 2 mile brisk walk. Of course, I can only make it through 15 min. so far! There's no jumping or anything to really stress joints which is why I like it.

I belly dance, regular dance, jog in place or ANY movement to fast upbeat music. I don't care. I just do something. I feel better afterwards so it is all good!
