Got up at 8:20am, ate bran cereal with dark choco sprinkles (my own invention) then did 45 minutes on the exercise bike, which translated as 310 calories burned, or about what I had for breakfast.
Now off to Lakeside Mall and lunch at Panera Bread, they have a scrumptious Strawberry Poppyseed & Chicken Salad (healthy and delicious).
Strawberry Poppyseed & Chicken Salad
Ingredients: Romaine lettuce, strawberries, fat free poppyseed dressing-reduced sugar (water, distilled vinegar, maltodextrin, dehydrated onion, cellulose gum, orange juice concentrate, poppyseeds, salt, mustard flour, xanthan gum, propylene glycol alginate, sodium benzoate to protect flavor, sucralose, nisin preparation a natural preservative), mandarin oranges (mandarin segments, water, sugar, glucose syrup, citric acid), pineapple, blueberries, pecans. 200 calories (without chicken, but I'm gettin' chicken, dammit! )
Then I have no idea what I'm gonna do?

Uh, propylene glycol is the main ingredient in antifreeze. I always read labels and refuse any propylene or propylethelene products. It comes from propane gas and some other place. Can't remember right now.
I have decided that eating breakfast for me is fattening. I eat all day long. I will start back on nonbreakfast tomorrow. It was a total crash off dieting. I need to go exercise off some of this munching. Maybe yard work. Oops, need to fix the mower.

Wow, 7 pds???....Congrats, Pali.
Uh, propylene glycol is the main ingredient in antifreeze. Now, Spirit, out all those healthy ingredients you're gonna nitpick over one? Unless you eat/drink a completely organic diet (and even then you can't trust any label 100%, even if it's marked "organic"), you are going to ingest many chemicals over the span of your life. Which one may trigger health complications? Nobody knows for absolute certainty. But I'm not gonna stress over it.
Burned another 450 calories off today, but also was very bad: had a choco cookie at Barnes & Noble, TWO cinnamon scones at Panera Bread, and a handful of peanut M&M's......guess it's back to the bike.

I was up at 6, got the car clean, outside AND in (drawback of a convertible, but it's worth it) but spent 2 hours doing it - no idea how many calories I burned but my roomie thought I was either sunburned or having a stroke.
Been busy today - Uncle Sam's cereal with fresh blueberries (OK, they were fresh when I tossed them in the freezer...) and potatoes and eggs for lunch. Gonna go put chicken breasts in a Jamaican jerk marinade and grill them later, along with a mix of veggies.
Wish I had your discipline Mo - gonna try, with the exercise bike, but I know me well enough to know it's not likely to last.
Pali - keep up that exercise program woman! Now THAT one's a winner!!!!

I am not on any special diet or anything.. I just try to eat better, walk a lot.. and try to not eat so many oreo cookies
My diabetes has been under control, my cholesterol levels have dropped since I started taking fish oil 6 months ago... these are some stubborn pounds to take off. I still have a least 30 to lose but would like to lose more. One hill at a time
We grill out a lot, and I am not into red meat a lot, so that helps too.
It's a change in lifestyle rather then just dieting. I can sure use all the support I can get in here, so I will be keeping up with this thread.
Good work everyone

I had a 6" Subway melt today and now a glass of Purple Moon Shiraz. Then we went for a walk. Now if I can just stay away from the cookies. Uh oh...I forgot I had a handful of Doritos.
Heaven...I'll also TRY to keep up with my exercise "program".

Yeah, I need that burn, Mo. I may look into a bike. I could listen to my self help cds and bike at the same time. Only problem is, every time I listen to the I am organised now cd, I stop the cd and start organizing. At this rate, I may never listen to the whole cd. I may have to get a walkman. I can't hear it all over the house if I turn it on and I am all over the house when I turn it on. At least I know it works. Any suggestions for a good bike? I bet I can find a good used one.
Heh, I found a great one online... computer bike

Is that computer bike a joke or for real, Spirit?...lol. It sure would solve the problem of working out and keeping up in the forums, though.
My old exercise bike lasted about 17 years, but the digital readout was broken for at least 12 yrs, so I just went by a cheap little egg timer...lol. I also had to turn a knob to increase resistance---just a very basic indoor exercise bike.
I bought a new one about eight months ago with all the cool readouts, and the resistance is electric, so I can increment at the touch of a button. I love it. I can actually see how many miles and calories I'm burning. I find that's much better motivation than simply going by time.
I may work out longer now (to burn the requisite calories), but I feel like I'm working out smarter.
I still have my free weights and bench that have to be at least 24 years old, and still going strong.
Both the weights and my first exercise bike were some of the best investments I ever made.
Mo

I went to a wedding reception tonight. Doggone, there went the 2 lbs I lost! Probably added another one or 2 also.
I had an exercise bike several years ago. I got it one week before I broke my hip. Then I spent the next 8 months living with my mom and the cats were at my house with the bike. When I finally moved home, the seat of the bike was scratched and bitten so there was not much left. It had the calorie counter and mileage counter, etc. and the cats had bitten through the connecting wires so those didn't work anymore either. They'd also urinated on the bars of the bike! When I was finally able to go back home, the first time I tried to ride it, I got one revolution of the pedals and that was it, as my knees were so stiff they couldn't bend to ride it. I did keep it for about another year before I got rid of it. Wish I could afford a new one. Anyone selling a used exercise bike??

I need to go exercise off some of this munching. That is when your body decides to go into starvation mode and starts storing the fat! Eat when you feel the hunger pains. Believe it or not, you do have to eat to loose weight!

It is for real, Mo. I am considering getting it but I sent them an email asking if it adjusts tension or whatever they call it. If not, I may buy the desk separate and go find a good bike to fit under it. I LOVE the idea. Computer is fattening as much as I sit here. I am going to go look up those computer isometrics again and do some of them as well since I am here a lot. I did have the bowflex next to my puter for awhile but the dang house was too small for that. I may go back to that. Or at least have some weights here by the puter while I am reading. I will drink a protein drink. No more eating breakfast. I do not have the same reaction when I drink breakfast. I had a small cuppa fattening coffee, today, about half my usual size. Going to go make my drink now. Oh, and Mo, THANKS for the bike idea.
Made my shake... unsweetened soy milk, one egg, half a frozen banana, one and half scoops protein, goat yogurt.... yum!

Last night's dinner was so tasty, I am having it again today for lunch. Saltfree seasoned Turkey breast with kale cooked in the same pan...yum! Wow, it was good. The turkey comes in slices ready to cook. Going to thaw a piece real quick. bbl
Thought I would add some organic spelt penne pasta with some home made goat cheese sauce that has purslane, cilantro, tomato and cucumber blended with salt free seasonings and dehydrated onion and garlic. I forgot my trainer okayed carbs within reasonable amounts. Sheesh.
