The Geico lizard......or gecko to be more precise.
They have explained to us, through their commercials, the reason for choosing an animal (because people will take advice from a cute talking animal better than from a boring human), and the fact that he is a gecko (because it sounds like geico, thats why hes not a goat or something else). Thats all fine and dandy. I understand that part.
What I dont get is.......why the hell does that lizard need to speak with a BRITISH ACCENT?!?!
Does Geico think Americans will be more trusting of a lizard from the UK, than a regular old domestic lizard???

much more elegance there. We all want a wrist flapping, pinkie extender insurance agent, right? (the elegance, no offense meant)
(too funny-the ad banner at the bottom IS Geico

Or, perhaps its an effort to alienate themselves from our current administration. They took government out of the name completely, and now they present themselves as foreigners.

No, he's British. I know the accents are close, but once you hear them both you can tell the difference.
Go watch Crocodile Dundee, or re-runs of Crocodile Hunter......you will hear the difference.
