There are two reasons why I usually leave my posts as they really are although I do edit at times.. 1.Just because you can not spell makes whatever you wrote automatically incorrect.
AND: 2. Because to stop the flow of thoughts and concern myself with just trying to make it look proper to someone else, would cause me to interrupt the flow of the incoming information, which to correct the spelling and punctuation would cause me to lose the incoming transmissions to my brain.
To keep the thoughts flowing, I type it as I perceive it and should not need to feel I just need to make it appear correct to everyone else.
It is perfect as its errors make it so!
The proof is in the communication and I do not claim, I as I am, am perfect as you may well notice yourself.
I would really hope smart educated people would realize punctuation and spelling are secondary to the first cause which is to communicate the information as it is received in real time. As it is typed and with the errors included as well.
Thank you for reading this.

IMO People shouldn't complain about a missed key, or added letter.
It is (as said in another thread) when people write something that upsets people, then go back and edit it out, that is the problem.

I must disagree. Punctuation is like a red light at an intersection. If everyone stops at the light, you're fine. If not, there may be an accident. Poor punctuation can lead to misunderstanding, especially with this format when you don't have physical cues to help you along the way. I'm reminded of Lynn Truss' book, Eats Shoots and Leaves. That phrase can have very different meanings depending on its punctuation.

Well, I happen to agree with Eastham. When I post, I try to make it as easy to read as possible. I type out my thoughts and use the preview button to read it back. I feel that if I have something important enough to convey, I owe it to the others in the thread to make my statements clear enough where they are not forced to decipher what I'm thinking.
As an aside, but still on topic, I use Firefox as my browser (instead of Internet Explorer) and it includes a built-in spelling checker. The title of this thread would have had a light red line under Puntuation in the subject line of this thread.

Well..unless what I was posting was super important then I suppose I`d try a little harder to do it the correct way. But since most of my post are just plain silly or off the wall. Then I see no need for formalities..this is not a social function after all.
NO Fire Fox Spell Check!..I am impressed!!

Does the accuracy of Puntuation and Spelling insure the accuracy of the informat Am I the only one that caught this misspelling?
To answer the question, not necessarily, but to me, it does give credence.
The purpose of punctuation is to clarify meaning or to emphasize a statement. Without it, one's intended statement or opinion can be misconstrued.
I've been battling attitudes of "just getting the job done" instead of "taking pride in one's work" at work. This topic reminds me of that. If one doesn't make an honest attempt at insuring proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and capitalization are used, to me they are "just getting the job done".
We are all human and we all make mistakes. However, constant errors in punctuation and spelling do tend to make me wonder about the accuracy of the informant. If the info is related to their thoughts and feelings, I question their "pride" in themselves. If the info is related to something they have read about or researched, I will question whether they completely understood their readings as they apparently do not have complete comprehension of punctuation.
But, that's just me!
Edited because I had an error that this little high school graduate didn't catch the first proofread!!!
