What year did the Vietnam war end? 1973 or 1975?
I'm confused!

Official American involvement ended in 1973.

Vietnan was reunified in 1975.

I hope this helps!

South Vietnamese resistance collapsed, and North Vietnamese troops marched into Saigon Apr. 30, 1975. Vietnam was formally reunified in July, 1976, and not 1975 as Uab_5 has stated.

I have a very good book (I think, being a Canadian) on the war in Vietnam.
If interested just mail me and I will give you the title etc.

My dad tells me stories about how he burned up his draft card at a rally, his friend Vern talks about how he pretended to be insane and homosexual to get out of the draft...and my mom and Vern's wife Sue talk about how they snuck men into Canada. Sue's brother Paul got out of the war, too, I don't know how.

My friends love my parents, needless to say.

Has anyone seen the documentary on PBS this week called "The War"?

It is about WW2. I am glued to my tv for once.

I take offense to that personally

You just said my father should have been shot

He's my god damned father and even though him and I have had our problems I will defend his not wanting to be forced into a war he didn't agree with.

I thank you for your service more than you know but indirectly inferring that my father should have been killed and inferring that I should not exist because of that is a terrible thing to say
