We have had threads on strange things, the Lochness Monster, etc. What does everyone believe about ghosts? Do they exist or not? Do you have any ghost stories to tell?
I have experienced a "ghost" twice. Of course, in my case, it was a ghost cat! When I moved into my first home that I owned, the 2nd night or so, I was in bed, not really sleeping yet as it was a new place, kind of scarey to me. I felt a cat jump on the foot of the bed, turn around several times and lie down. I turned on my light to look, but there was no cat. My bedroom door was closed and they were all in the living room. It felt just like my old Oreo who used to sleep with me. I decided she had come to be with me in my new home. She also visited me a year ago in the hospital one night when I couldn't sleep. So do I believe in ghosts? Yes, I guess I do.

I don't really know how many of my ghost stories are hallucinations from before I was medicated, so I'm not going to tell them.
But yes, I believe...without a doubt.

I never discount anything I cannot disprove.
I know i have heard people in my house, when my son was locked out and couldn't get in. But, it could have been dreams, also.

Yes, I experienced a ghost in a cemetary I was visiting, it was on a tour of the cemetary. My gf and I let the others walk up ahead so I could take photos into the darkness. The cemetary was known to be haunted, but of course, I didn't believe in ghosts so didn't think I'd see any. I put the camera up to my eye, snapped into the darkness where my gf said to. I put the camera down, then back up to my eye when I heard a rumble from the ground, an eerie sound too, I had goosebumps by this time, it was like an eerie ghostly sound like you see in the movies, but this was real. Then as I looked through the lense of my camera a ghost appeared, it looked like a huge bright yellow light that grew tall then taller. That was enough to make a believer out of me. I could actually feel it using my body to materialize, using the energy from my body, that was strange in itself, I was so scared. I felt as though it was going to hurt me and my gf, so I told myself to calm down which believe me was not an easy feat at that moment lol. It didn't last long, but it really did bother me so I wrote to the Warrens in CT, they are ghost hunters, they had their editor write me back saying that what I saw was a ghost and that I am "A Sensitive", someone who can hear and see spirits. That was news to me lol. I have never tried to develop my powers, but it was interesting finding that out. I haven't visited that cemetary since. The graves there are from the 1700s, Benedict Arnold and his mother are buried there, it is Norwichtown cemetary in CT which is right next to the town of Norwich, CT if anyone is interested, but don't wear anything gold when you go, wear silver to protect yourself. You can actually bring ghosts home with you.

i am a huge believe in this. I too have been told that im "sensitive" to spirts and what not, which scares the living shit out of me! I have had a lot of strange things happen to me over the years, that go left unexplained. But have only seen something once which was when i was a small child. Have heard many things and stuff being turned on and off though. I was having a conversation with one of my buddies last weekend and we got on this subject. We both agreed that if we ever did see something it scared us so much to wonder if we would lose our minds over it. That is my worst fear with the paranormal. Seeing a person that I know is dead standing in front of me. Call me crazy or whatever.....but.....
theyre back.....

I think I'd be open to actually seeing a ghost. I've had "feelings" about things that turn out to be true. But so far my only ghost has been motion, not form. (see beginning of thread). I guess there are many things we cannot explain--and I prefer it to be that way. I don't want to know the scientific explanation for "feeling" my cat on my bed. I like thinking she was there to comfort me.

That is right there in the top 5 scariest stories I have ever read.
