A quiet shy little man goes on Britain's American Idol. From the moment he walks on stage, you are already feeling sorry fer him.
It looks destinied fer disaster, but it turns out good in the end.
Ya gots to be pretty sour ole bird fer this not to move yer heart a little.
Brittain's got talent

That's what should be known as the real Idol story. No fluff, no banter... just a little lump of coal that, against all odds, turned into a diamond in front of the whole world.

Took my breath away. And when the crowd went crazy for him, I cried.

What makes it so wonderfilled (fer me) is that he is kind of odd looking, gots bad teeth and all. The judges are all rollin their eyes like "ugh, I gotter sit through this" The audience is grinning, waiting for the train wreck. To me, he represents alla the oddball folk that was ever mistreated er picked on. To see him open his mouth and show he has a rare gift, and alla that jaded judges so moved (did ya see that the lady judge was crying at the end?) Even that Simon "I wanna be a jerk" was beaming. To see him do so well and get appreciation was inspirationalizing.

Back when I was a factory foreman one of my material handlers sang opera as he worked. It was his own x rated version of opera but the people who knew opera said that he had an amazing natural talent and voice. They said that all he lacked was the Italian words.
He looked like a psycho biker pirate from hell.

Exactly, jaybird....and I think that all those things only served to make this even more special. I, for one, was waiting for that train wreck, and for the words of sarcasm that Simon would have for even stepping foot on the stage. The judge on the left actually looked back toward the audience and rolled his eyes.
And then.....and then......well, it was almost as if we were watching a real life condensed rags to riches story! I think if the crowd had been able to get to him, they would have paraded him around town on their shoulders. This average guy from nowhere became a national hero virtually overnight. What a story! We need more like that in this world!!!!

I do not normally listen to opera...but I listened to Paul...over and over again and everytime, my hair stood up on my neck and I had goosebumps all over. What a voice!! Listen to the virtual duet of he and Pavarotti doing the same song..... unbelievable
