I was invited and it looks like I might go. Its being hosted by AA. I'm curious mostly. It will be the first time I attended such a party. Usually, I have to be drunk to party. I'm hoping to connect with some other folks who have made a choice to stay clean and sober, and I'm keeping an open mind.

There's wild women all over Vegas...but I've never seen any sober ones....21 YEARS  WOW.....WOW.....GREAT JOB DUDE

Best of luck onoud--New Year's is the 2nd time of year I drink one wine cooler. Other is my birthday---yeah I know, I'm such a party animal!! LOL

I too have stayed sober for many years. Iit is actually quite fun to watch the people get loaded, well, after about an hour, it isn't fun.

happy new year all
more women than men at the party
friendly too
no fights
no hangover
but i didn't stay long
went home and watched video's with friends
rise of the silver surfer....jessica alba is sexy but all wrong for the part of sue storm
she seemed like they were keeping her up during the movie...like she wanted to go to sleep or something....boring movie all around in fact....kind of cheesy too
spider-man trilogy....ok
tom cruise in the last warrior was good
van helsing was good
nice night spent watching vids and talking about 2007 which was kind of depressing

there wasn't even a lot of talk about recovery
just new years....resolutions we are going to keep etc...

No.....not cult like at all. You are right, good point. I think you have those types no matter what. I guess they need to be that way for what ever reasons. What ever works for them I say. But the circle I was in was pretty laid back. There was a meeting before hand that got kind of spirited, due to it being New Years and Vegas, and what not. But, after everyone seem to relax and try to have a nice time. It was a very potent experience.

Good O - I told you before - I have friends that are clean and Sober in the rooms - not in the room -
I just hope that all that suffer find a way to be free from addiction -

I had a few sips of wine last night at midnight....I have a drink maybe twice a year..not into alchohol at all and admire those who can give up the habit
