Let's start with those romance-enhancer drug commercials we see about 150 times per day on the tube. I kinda wish they'd outlaw them or something! Kind of in poor taste, and they don't seem to worry at all about young'uns watching and wondering.
Anyway, you know that commercial about romance-enhancers where two nude people are outdoors in matching bathtubs, side by side, facing away toward the mountains and/or the sunset? (different commercials).
What the heck have the matching bathtubs etc, got to do with romance-enhancement? Or anything else for that matter? There must be some signficance to it, but it beats me.. Is it subliminal perhaps? Why two bathtubs side by side? And why outdoors in particular? If it were a couple in a tub, that might mean something.
Then you've got the new song Viva Viagra!! Ugh! Man that one has GOT to go!! Shoot those guys singing it willya? Sheesh! Dumbest thing I've ever heard!

they don't seem to worry at all about young'uns watching and wondering. This is all done by our same suspectedly moral country that excludes God from schools and society.
America! America! God shed his grace on thee Till selfish gain no longer stain The banner of the free!

Um, the government can't "outlaw" anything that's on T.V. That would be un-American and would make me ashamed of this country. It screams "big Brother" to me. I would hate to think we were heading that way. Wouldn't you?
If you don't want your kids to see something, why don't you not plop them in front of the TV when you're not around?

Nudity is different than condom commercials.
When they play condom commercials, they play them on VH1, MTV, and on FOX Network and CW11 (at least that's what it's called here) during "teen shows". There's no harm in that. It's been proven that "abstinence only" doesn't work and that teens have to know how to protect themselves.
They do not play them on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, or other channels that are designed for children, and if they do, they certainly do not play them during the day. If your child sees a condom commercial and you are not around, it's your fault.

The saddest thing is they lie on commercials... we laugh at the lies... or people are silly enough to believe the lies....
Corporations now have more rights than people in America

Well if they didn't lie and make the product sound like the greatest thing ever, no one would buy it. That's the idea behind commercials, to build up the product, whether it's using truth or lies or semi-lies.

Here are 3 which I have just retrieved from an early thread that I had started about banned commercials.

To me the worst are the car dealer commercials. Some greasy looking dude screaming into the mike about nothing down and we finace anybody that's breathing. Get a car for $99 a month. Then they have fine print that flashes by saying it's $99 for the first 3 months then $499 a month. And so on.

LMAO!!!
Some pretty weird stuff there alright!!
I wasn't taking a moral/religious position really, regarding children seeing ads like romancer-enhancers (Viagra, Cialis and the like). But I am prudish enough to still believe we expose our kids to way too much they have no business watching at a very young age. (teens and pre-teens). But for the commericals they see like that, they would pretty much be a lot more innocent for quite a bit longer during childhood, and I think that would be a good thing. But it's gotten where nothing seems to be out-of-bounds.
I hate to see 9-10 year old girls for instance, dressing up to try to be sexy and alluring in school. That just isn't where their heads need to be, at that point. All that will come along soon enough, for gosh sakes! We don't need to be promoting it at a very early stage.
But all that aside, the one with the bear fighting the guy using martial arts is a riot!! That one would certainly catch my eye if I saw it on the tube.
Still though, I don't understand the product signficance of the dual bathtubs outdoors, facing the mountains or whatever. What have two presumably nude people in matching bathtubs got to do with anything? What does that have to do with promoting enhanced sexuality? What am I missing there?

Especially if they are misleading the public as indicated.
Another one I have trouble with is a very widely prescribed sleeping pill. They say early on in the commerical, "Don't worry. This is non-narcotic. Take it for as long as you need to". Then later in the same commercial, they say "Known to be habit-forming". And of course it is, Big Time! So what's with suggesting it isn't narcotic? PLEASE!!
It also has had some harrowing side effects for many people. Things like going on a drive while sleep-walking, etc. Yet doctors still prescibe it by the millions.
