Tonight's the night! It's the winter solstice, and I know some of you enjoy astronomical/seasonal happenings. For anyone who's interested, the winter solstice is the shortest day and longest night of the year. Tomorrow, the days will begin to get longer again...spring is officially on its way! Old Farmer's Almanac-type lore states that winter's back is now broken, and all we have to do is make it through the "death throes" of January and February...

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Grumb,
Better get out those long winter undies.
Angel,
I finally ventured outside and filled the water level on the pond. It was too cold the last few days, so I became a hermit.
I didn't realize how close you are to me, until the other day.
I don't think we will be having a white Christmas in our neck of the woods.

Aspartame??? Yikes! You're sure brave. Maybe the alcohol will cancel it out.
The Rye sounds interesting though. That ought to warm the bones there. What is the time difference? It's 9:30 here.

Too late now, girl!
I was on until almost 4:00a, a couple of days ago. I have been frequenting the forum far too much lately.
That will have to change, in the next couple of days, because I have family coming for the holiday.
Do you see the Northern Lights there? Isn't that what they're called? I have heard they are magnificent. Now, that would be something I would love to see before I pass to the great beyond.
