I'm just wondering if anyone has been afraid of exposing something they fear may drive someone away? Did you tell the truth and what was the reaction?
Personally I was pleasantly suprised.

I think we're all so busy trying to put on a reasonably presentable face around here, it's sort of relief to see a few warts come up...it's the perfect ones you gotta watch out for

It's a relief to get the big one (at least in my eyes) out of the way. The whole rest of the day went better when I didn't have it hanging over my head. The rest are just mere pimples. 
Besides I respect and think enough of her to tell her the truth.

Well, I don't know about you guys, but I wanna know where Angel's dimples are???
I'm guessing they're in the perfect spot to put salt in one and lime in the other. That way when you're having shots watching the game - by halftime you'll be ready for halftime entertainment.

I think perhaps oftentimes folks think they have a "terrible secret" when it is truely only terrible from their personal perspective.

I think it is natural to have that fear, but I have thankfullly been able to overcome that! I have no problem in revealing things about myself......if someone doesn't agree, they are offended or they believe differently than me, I think it is best that we find out before we become too emotionally involved.
Life is too short to beat around the bush....I always tell the truth and have never been disappointed - no matter the outcome. If there is something about me that another person has a difficult time with, my attitude is......I respect that and I have no hard feelings!!! There is no sense in either of us wasting the other's time....it just isn't meant to be. Life goes on!!!
One must also consider that what we fear may be a big issue with someone is larger in our own minds. I think that is because we tend to judge ourselves and decide that everyone else is going to judge us also. Things that we have done or said in the past cannot be changed. The only thing we have control over is whether we repeat them or we are at least doing our best to not repeat them.

If there is such a thing, I'm probably honest to a fault. I've told the men who have an interest in meeting me, I've added pounds over the years. Unfortunately, that seems to sometimes come w/ age. I have been pleasantly surprised, to discover they don't seem to cower away because of it.
Maybe, as we grow older, we are practical/realistic enough to realize things do go South.
You could line up more than a couple of shooters w/ my dimples.
One plus, I lose weight easily, and since I don't care for the gym, sex is my next choice of exercise.   
Guess I'd better go for a brisk hike as a third choice.
